Sen. Patrick Leahy has reportedly been taken to the hospital for a sudden illness on the day senators were sworn in for the second impeachment trial of former President Donald Trump.
"This evening, Sen. Leahy was in his Capitol office and was not feeling well," spokesman David Carle wrote in a statement, per reports. "He was examined in the Capitol by the Attending Physician.

The swearing in and Leahy's illness come one night after being assigned to preside over the trial.

I thought the impeachment trial was not going forward.
I’ve heard his name before but had no idea what he looked like so checked out his visage on the net. I’m embarrassed to say I don’t think I’ve ever seen him, or if I did, I quickly looked away. Found this interesting tidbit:

Chris Dodd helped transfer custody of Elian Gonzalez — a shipwrecked six-year-old Cuban boy — from his Miami relatives to his father on the island. “Family values are the most important values in our country,” Leahy brusquely told reporters after the transfer brought a fair amount of political blowback. “We lost sight — or many lost sight — of the fact that one of those family values was to have a child back with his father. Does the Vermont Republican Gov have to replace Leahy with a citizen of Vermont? I do not think so.

I’d like him to appoint Ted Cruz as the Vermont senator. Then Texas would get another pick instead of the Cruznadian.
Did his lying heart spring a leak? Did his bile-filled stomach suddenly burst? Did his treacherous “leaking” that got one of our agents killed finally come back to haunt, and hopefully bring the victim some justice, permanently?
Remember, when one is “vile”, it is just a different way of spelling and saying “EVIL”. Leahy fits that word like a glove fits a hand.
