HOUSTON (AP) — A second Houston police officer has been charged with murder and is among additional officers who have been indicted as part of an ongoing investigation into a Houston Police Department narcotics unit following a deadly 2019 drug raid, prosecutors announced Monday.
In all, a dozen officers tied to the narcotics unit have been indicted after their work came under scrutiny following the January 2019 drug raid in which Dennis Tuttle, 59, and his wife, Rhogena Nicholas, 58, were killed.
“The consequences of corruption are two innocent ordinary people were killed in their homes, four police officers were shot, one of them paralyzed and now all of them will face Harris County jurors who will decide their fate,” said Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg.
Officer Felipe Gallegos was indicted for murder in Tuttle’s death. If convicted, he faces up to life in prison, Ogg said. Five other officers were indicted Monday for their roles in an alleged scheme to steal overtime payments as part of their work with the narcotics squad.
Three of the officers — Oscar Pardo, Cedell Lovings and Nadeem Ashraf — face first degree felony charges of engaging in organized criminal activity related to theft of a public servant and tampering with a governmental record.

NOT THIS TIME...
Then again he lied about the riots last year as well.
2019 to 2021 on paid administrative leave?
I guess the city felt they needed money to pay for their attorneys.
How many were shot by other officers?
Lies by omission are still lies.
Pin your badge on with pride!
I remember that name. Big anti-gunner, too.
Sorry but decent, knowledgable people have always known that police departments, given the amount of drug cash on the streets, and that the police by the nature of their work having close approximation to it, most departments are infected with corruption that would shock the public. Dirty little open secret that there are “retirement” communities especially in the costal sunbelt where retired policemen, often with total lifetime salaries averaging less that $60,000/year live very well in multimillion dollar properties. Not every cop is worthy of your support.
Harris County District Attorney Chuck Rosenthal (RINO) was also anti-gun rights.
He even challenged the state legislature’s approval for Texans to carry and said he’d prosecute them anyhow.
By putting big profits in criminal hands, prohibitions always fuel corruption.
All four. The victims never knew what hit them. All because of a lying and probably jealous rat. Who was probably jealous because they were happy and she was miserable. I hope they hang her.

Ain’t life grand! Also enjoying their generous taxpayer paid health insurance, accumulating additional pension years of “service” and receiving pay increases.
Is this one of those “back the blue” no matter what event?
Legalize Fentanyl!?!?!
It’ll quickly clean up the gene pool, and all the profits go to China!
That crowd should be by shortly...
How many were shot by other officers?
Four!!
That poor couple. This story is heartbreaking. Two years before any justice, which does the deceased no dang good at all.
I must say one of the deceased did an excellent job of defending. Just too bad they paid the ultimate price! Such a situation will be far more prevalent in the coming years with the rats in power.
By design.
