If you ever had a loved one die, you will see the worst come out in some of the family.
Experienced it twice when my wife’s father died and then her mother. Also when my grandmother passed away.
It is something to behold.

Yes and no. This story regardless of it’s veracity hits pretty close to home. Got an uncle that did not honor his father’s (Marine) wishes (he left a very detailed will) after his passing, isolated all but one family member (my daughter) from my Grandmother up to her passing (for 6.5 years), hid my Grandmother’s death from all other family members (except my daughter), cremated my Grandmother and did not bury her beside my Grandfather in the fully prepaid/prepared burial plot. To this day, only the Lord knows where her urn is located.
And no, I honestly (or foolishly) did not realize that he would treat his own family in such a manner. Used to get very angry when I thought about it as I had lost not only my Grandfather that day but my Grandmother as well as my uncle but then I realized that all those things that my uncle did and continues to do will result in his own demise.
It’s been very difficult over the years not to put “my finger on the scale” so to speak when the opportunity presents itself and believe me I’ve had multiple opportunities (the last time being a couple months ago) to do so yet chose the high road. I refuse to get down on his level and always keep in mind: What would my Grandfather do?
I fear for his soul and hope that some day soon he will realize the error of his ways and come to find peace in the Lord.

Yep.... learns you a lesson real quick about people, family or not. It’s sad really that folks turn on their own. Ol Scratch is alive and well yet knows his time is short.
I think we have to let go at times. When I think of you and
this example of human excrement, it’s clear you are a much
higher caliber of individual.
It’s comforting at times to think of his current value as a
human being, and your value as a human being.
It would be very unfortunate for you to lose control and ruin
your life to take action against him.
He will pay for what he has done, and you don’t know how
much he really is bothered by it late at night. Something
has to be eating at him, if not those things you mentioned.
Something in his mind warranted all that. I doubt what he
has done has compensated him fully in his mind.
I hope you folks stay way far away from that guy. I’d hate
to see someone else hurt by him.

I was the executor of my father's will and it was very straight forward.
He wanted his estate divided equally among me and my siblings which equaled 4 so the division was simple.
I kept strict records and sent each member of my family certified records and a check for 25% of the total.
The will stipulated that I was entitled to a fee, I declined to take it because a few grand was not worth any hard feelings that might have happened.
My dad has been gone for over 15 years but I have nothing but good memories and can still remember small events from many years ago.

My middle sister stole most of our parents money. They made the mistake of letting her name on their accounts. After they died the rest of us found out what happened.
My dad’s brother created a trust for his 5 kids so it would not happen in his family.
