My snarky comment aside, you're of course correct and it's my point that the entire thing is a sham. Does it matter that it's a sham? To you and I it does. We know the difference between what's legitimate and what's not. To those on the other side (read that: hostile, violent, uneducated, ignorant) of the aisle all they want is the "trial" and the talking point that President Trump was "impeached" once again.
That's what they're after, to de-legitimize President Trump and get as many ignorant/uninformed/uneducated of the masses as they can on their side because for them, the real fascists in this country (Democrats) there's strength in numbers and they get those numbers by manipulating public opinion.
The time for playing this out in the media has passed. I’d like to see Trump sue the US Senate and force Roberts and the rest of the court to clear this up.
