Chief Justice Roberts says he will not preside over this “trial,” and the Constitution says the CJ “shall” preside over the Senate trial. “Shall” legally means CJ presiding is not optional, it’s mandatory.

So now these spiteful idiots appoint angry senile Leaky Leahy to be the presiding impartial “judge?”

Are these hateful Democrats on LSD or crystal meth? WTH is wrong with them? I knew they were evil deranged lunatics before this, but they’re really outdoing themselves this time.

Roberts hasn’t told Pelosi/Schumer they don’t have standing?

The CJ presides over the impeachment trial of a President. The Senate is attempting to try a private citizen, Donald J Trump. (I believe the point of having the CJ preside over Presidential impeachment’s is to avoid the obvious conflict of interest that would occur if the President of the Senate (the VP) were to preside).

Has chief justice Roberts formally declared that he will not preside at the Senate trial? I’ve read many times that he will not do it but I wonder if it is just a “some say” type statement.

The idea of impeachment of a private citizen is ludicrous; so I have to assume the rats have deeper motives. Their idea may be that even a sham impeachment could help set the predicate for a criminal trail in the usual courts of law. In any case the floozies and scoundrels of the media will make a big deal of it however it turns out.
