Supposedly, but only in a judicial proceeding. Impeachment is a political proceeding and rules of evidence, etc., don't apply. The Senate makes the rules for how it is conducted. Impeachments are meant to be "show trials".
You might be right, but the fact is that Trump DID NOT say to go storm the capital. He DID say the election was a fraud.
I don’t see how the democrats can separate the allegations from what Trump said and most of them are on record stating his false claims of election fraud are what triggered the incident.
The whole thing is a big pit of mud, but I would prefer they go through with it at this point because there are many republicrats with splinters in their butt right now and 2022 is quickly approaching.
The first months of the Biden presidency and democrat congress are shaping up to be a trainwreck. If we can watch the GOPe crash too I would welcome it.
