You might be right, but the fact is that Trump DID NOT say to go storm the capital. He DID say the election was a fraud.
I don’t see how the democrats can separate the allegations from what Trump said and most of them are on record stating his false claims of election fraud are what triggered the incident.
The whole thing is a big pit of mud, but I would prefer they go through with it at this point because there are many republicrats with splinters in their butt right now and 2022 is quickly approaching.
The first months of the Biden presidency and democrat congress are shaping up to be a trainwreck. If we can watch the GOPe crash too I would welcome it.

Just know that the Senate is not interested in the truth. It is a narrative machine similar to the press.
I don't think Trump will be convicted, but I think there is unanimous support in the seante for "entering the Capitol is wrong, no matter what the provoication. Violence is wrong, no matter what the provocation, etc. They don't have to get to the provocation part.
The Senate will use this trial to trumpet "the election was decided correctly" with no rebuttal allowed.
