Joe Biden has already made labor unions regret their support for him.
During his first day in office, Biden revoked the construction permit for the Keystone XL oil pipeline, destroying thousands of jobs.
TC Energy Corp., the Canadian company sharing ownership of the pipeline with the Alberta government, had estimated that 10,000 jobs would be created in 2021 thanks to the construction of the pipeline.
A total of 42,000 jobs were to be filled once the pipeline was completed.
The Laborer’s International Union Of North America issued this statement:
“The Biden decision to cancel the Keystone XL pipeline permit on day one of his presidency is both insulting and disappointing to the thousands of hard-working LIUNA members who will lose good-paying, middle-class family-supporting jobs,”
“By pandering to environmental extremists, a thousand union jobs will immediately vanish and 10,000 additional jobs will be foregone.”
This comes after LIUNA bragged about pushing Biden “over the top” in 2020:
The North American Building Trades Union said:
“North America’s Building Trades Unions are deeply disappointed in the decision to cancel the Keystone XL permit on the President’s first day in office. Environmental ideologues have prevailed, and over a thousand union men and women have been terminated from employment on the project.
Tens of thousands of workers are left to wonder what the future holds for them. In the midst of a pandemic that has wreaked havoc on the economic security of tens of millions more, we must all acknowledge the uncertainty and anxiety this government action has caused.”
The United Association Of Union Plumbers and Pipefitters released this statement:
“In revoking this permit, the Biden Administration has chosen to listen to the voices of fringe activists instead of union members and the American consumer on Day 1.”

An enormous chunk of their tax base was erased a few days ago, when Biden appeased the Democrat's AOC Wing by nixing all drilling permits.

I only feel sorry for the workers who voted smartly, but were stabbed in the back by fellow useful idiots.
Their message was that the racist Tea Parties didn't represent "the people," but rather were organized & funded by Dark Sinister forces such as the Koch Bros. And that they themselves were the true spontaneous grassroots people. Of course, getting away with that Big Lie depended on a compliant, fawning, in-cahoots local press. And even though our local rag has long been strongly liberal, they chose this time to tell the truth. They had photos of both sides on the front page, but they mentioned that the anti-Tea Party side were from a bus going town to town, and were SEIU members. I was pleasantly surprised for once.

I agree. I’m sure there were a few ‘secret’ Trump supporters in the mix.
Union membership was down drastically, across the board. It just recently started going up again, for some unknown reason. Hard to believe everyone wasn’t HAPPY with the Trump Economy.
I’m going to miss it. :(
