WASHINGTON (AP) — It's a club Donald Trump was never really interested in joining and certainly not so soon: the cadre of former commanders in chief who revere the presidency enough to put aside often bitter political differences and even join together in common cause.
Members of the ex-presidents club pose together for pictures. They smile and pat each other on the back while milling around historic events, or sit somberly side by side at VIP funerals. They take on special projects together. They rarely criticize one another and tend to offer even fewer harsh words about their White House successors.
Like so many other presidential traditions, however, this is one Trump seems likely to flout. Now that he's left office, it's hard to see him embracing the stately, exclusive club of living former presidents.

I do recall Carter criticizing President Trump a while back, just can’t remember what it was about.
your name is the best way
Bill Clinton technically doesn’t seem to. But since his wife can never shut the hell up, I guess we can accredited it to him as well.
Trump was different in that he took his oath of office seriously. I can’t say the same about the others.
“who revere the presidency enough to put aside often bitter political differences”
Hogwash! They’re all of the Uniparty, they have no bitter political differences.
Only Trump and Reagan would be in the other club of recent Presidents, and that leaves Trump.
That is true.

“They rarely criticize one another...”
That is what struck me as well. Although I must say that G.W. followed that rule.... until President Trump was elected.
Bush 43 followed it with Clinton, but threatened to publicly say what he thought of him if he didn’t stop interrupting his son’s convention speech.
None of them observed this tradition with regards to Trump, and he didn’t mince words with them at his inauguration. I hope that he goes after Biden with both barrels every step of the way for the next four years.
Most musing part:
They rarely criticize one another and tend to offer even fewer harsh words about their White House successors.
All Obama did was viciously attack President Trump nonstop for 4 years. The least President Trump can do is to tell the Kenyan communist to go take a jump and die.
Bingo! Obama blamed GW for all his failings and GW still played nice. Trump was called a Racist, White Supremacists. There is no playing nice after that degree of defamation.
Ass Press — Always writing for the left. Always with political lies. Always shaming The Press.
Of course the article is a joke, like all of them on AP.
They are always trying to portray Trump as isolated.
I recall Carter being on Phil Donahue sometime in the 1980s and Donahue egged him on to make a few terse remarks about Reagan.
(Warning, strong language) It's A BIG Club & You Ain't In It!
The real reason Trump is not joining the ex-Prssidents club is that he’s not done. February will be very interesting.
We shall see how the next several weeks will unfold.
However, Trump will never join that club.
