Disney+ blocks under-sevens from watching 'racist' Peter Pan, Dumbo and The Aristocats for breaching 'content advisories'

Generations of children have been charmed by the magical tale of the boy who never grew up, but Peter Pan is now on a list of banned movies.

Bosses at Disney have blocked anyone under the age of seven from watching the 1953 animated classic on its streaming service over concerns that it portrays racial stereotypes, The Mail on Sunday can reveal.

Three other long-standing family favourites – The Aristocats, Swiss Family Robinson and Dumbo – have also been removed from children’s accounts for breaching ‘content advisories’ that were recently put in place.

Parents have been left dumbfounded after trying to watch the films on Disney’s £5.99-per-month service. One said: ‘I wanted to watch Peter Pan with my daughter, but I couldn’t find it anywhere.

They’ve already added a long unskippable disclaimer about racism to a lot of older films on Disney+ . I didn’t pay to have that nonsense forced on me. Still have many years left that I already paid for or else I’d cancel. The leftists have ruined Disney just like they’ve ruined everything else.

I was lucky enough to snag a copy of Song of the South a few years ago. It's a great movie about Uncle Remus and his companions, human or otherwise.

It is interesting that Br'er Rabbit is a "trickster" tale, authentic folklore passed down from African slaves. If newspaperman Joel Chandler Harris hadn't recorded them, they likely would have been lost forever.

How can African folklore be "racist"?

The irony too is that anyone who labels "Song of the South" racist, is probably not old enough to ever have seen it.

These censorship efforts will lead to a return to hard media. DVD’s, Blu-Ray, etc...I have inherited from an uncle who was career military as am I a very large collection of LaserDiscs. When I first inherited them I found them very lacking in picture quality. Then, I bought a new Home Theater receiver from Marantz with excellent upscaling.
Now, I and my wife watch all of those LaserDiscs (many many dozens) of classic movies from the ‘70s, ‘80s, and ‘90s and enjoy them all. Including Home Alone with DJT cameo and Roger Rabbit with the handguns, old Looney toons with all their glorious cartoon violence, etc...

If Disney is going to allow PC problems to paralyze their industry, then maybe it’s time to just get out of the entertainment business. Perhaps they have outlived their usefulness in a changed society. Sort of like Playboy Magazines have.
