U.S. Constitution, Article 1, Section 3, Clause 7:
Judgment in Cases of Impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States: but the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law.
It IS in the Constitution.
Do none of these DC critters ever read the Constitution? Even Roberts will have to shoot this one down. The wording is very clear.
Yet word is Fancy Nancy will be delivering the Article of Impeachment to the senate on Monday. Any forecasts for
alternative actions or will Nan from San Fran be made to
look a fool for a third time? WTP are aware she has no clue
as to the words which form our Constitution, even though
she took an OATH to defend same.
We live in historic, interesting times. Our elected officials are clueless, criminal, and have shown themselves
to be two faced hypocrites.
The constitution says that the president SHALL be removed from office after impeachment. Since that is not possible with president Trump, then any senate trial must be unconstitutional.
That's why, I believe, that Pelosi pushed Impeachment through the House without any hearings, in order to return a Bill of Impeachment against Trump while he was STILL IN OFFICE.

You can’t steal an election either if it is found out, but
if both parties recognize the results without objection to

So disqualifying Trump could certainly work in this

My sources tell that Roberts is going to rule that impeachment is really a tax so all issues will pass Constitutional muster.

The Congress CANNOT lawfully impeach a PRIVATE CITIZEN, from an office that a citizen no longer holds and/or keep ANYBODY from seeking office in the future UNLESS they were first LAWFULLY IMPEACHED by the HoR & thereafter CONVICTED by the US Senate.
ImVho, what we 75-80 MILLION Trump supporters & other Patriots MUST DO for the next 4 years is engage in 100% NON-COOPERATION, by any/every LAWFUL means, with the LAWLESS DIMocRATS, IF we want to save our REPUBLIC from from the shameless/corrupt FAR LEFT lunatics.

I watched the video. What Dershowitz said was that even if convicted by the Senate he could still run again in 2024.
And furthermore, a separate vote by the Senate to make him ineligible to vote would have no legal effect. He could still run.
You can look up the rules that the Senate must follow on the web (sorry, I don’t have a link handy) and you will find some disturbing information:
1. Justice Roberts is required to preside over the trial of either the President or Vice President. But Trump is neither. So what happens. Will it be Roberts or perhaps Magic Johnson?
2. The Presiding Officer, presumably Robert’s but we really don’t know, has the power to object to the submission of any evidence he wants and it will not be allowed to be presented.
3. Worse - even if he does not object to the submission the Dems can call for a vote and overrule his decision with a 50/50 vote and a Harris tiebreaker.
4. And I now read that Schumer and McDuck are thinking about a 3 day trial. Giuliani is thinking 3 weeks. Who do think will win that one?

Roberts isn’t going to preside over the impeachment trial. Which means it will be a fake trial if held. That’s what Roberts is telling the Democrats. Not that they care, but it’s easy to see for normal people.
The “trial” should be boycotted by Trump, his lawyers and Republicans. Any decision is meaningless and can’t be enforced anyway. Impeachment is for removal of sitting Presidents, so unless they want to admit Trump is the President, they can’t impeach him.
Stealing elections is as American as Apple Pie.

No difference whatsoever.. It will fail just like the last one. Being merely impeached in the house is now totally meaningless. Expect Biden to suffer the same fate when we take over the House in 2022. Only difference is, Biden will have committed impeachable offenses, unlike Trump.
Speaking of junkyard dogs, Roberts and Dershowitz's names are both on Epstein's travel logs; Dershowitz admits he went to the Island but swears he's innocent. People bash Roberts and claim he was on Epstein's Island left and right - and yes, he's earned the ridicule on his legal work - but Dershowitz gets a pass because he's for Trump?

I wouldn’t be surprised to see 17 R’s vote to convict. There are at least that many who are blackmailed or bought off to do what they are told.
Roberts has already said he won’t preside, the entire thing is fake if they go forward without the Chief Justice.
