The rule doesn’t affect existing permits. It will when those permits expire........

Before then, right now. See my #114 where existing permit holders must supply additional information to continue permit use. I expect the bureaucrats in the BLM will feel like petty dictators examining every condition in the permit and asking for more information to justify approval.

More from the Journal article; these are the type of Rad Dem idiots elected in northern New Mexico::

Rep. Deb Haaland, D-N.M., Biden’s nominee for secretary of the Interior, didn’t respond to a request for comment on the order handed down from the department she may soon be running.
But during her most recent campaign for Congress, Haaland took a hard line against the fossil fuel industry.
She said in a Journal questionnaire last year that the industry has made billions while putting communities in harm’s way, and that she supports a ban on fracking. She also has said that America’s public lands are sacred spaces that belong to all Americans and should be protected.

~~snip~~

Rep. Teresa Leger Fernández, D-N.M., said that former President Donald Trump’s administration abused New Mexico’s public lands for short-term corporate profits.
“Now, we must assess how we can best protect our nation’s most treasured lands and resources for generations to come,” she said in a statement. “I support the administration’s bold actions, and look forward to working with my colleagues to transition to a vibrant, green energy future for New Mexico and our planet.”

Stopping all of that isn’t something you can just ‘do’. Shutting down will take days, during which they will be without a permit, and thus can be permanently shut down just for that.

I’m told the moderates, Manchin and Tester, are the reasoned bulwarks and will veto the insanity.

Apparently they missed the part about the executive branch, and its control over federal lands absent specific legislation.

Fester-Bester-Tester may be a bulwark but he is in no ways moderate.

Acting Secy de la Vega, the Bolshevik eliminating drilling and leasing, is a lawyer partisan from Brooklyn, NY. Everything he knows about energy is at a gas pump.Probably does not know an oil well from an oil pan.

Liberia ran their revolution by decrees after they shot the previous administration on the beach and occupied the capital with troops. We are Liberia now.

In the cause of the people, the struggle continues.

Illegitimate coup platters led by Mr. grifter Fraudster hisself...
Keep it up - we know what you did to the coal industry. Its not happening again. I predict a general strike led by the executive teams of all the oil and gas companies and all workers. Just shut it all in, stop drilling, and don’t go to work for a couple of months. Seriously.
