State Surgeon General, Dr. Scott Rivkees, released an advisory on Thursday outlining residency requirements for the coronavirus vaccine.
In a report from the Florida Department of Health, more than 43,000 out-of-state vaccines have been distributed in the Sunshine State.
The advisory will now prevent some people from being able to cross state lines into Florida to get their vaccine.
“What that means, is we are going to be checking those people’s ID and of course the preferred method is for a person to have a driver’s license or a Florida ID,” said Florida Department of Health in Bay County Public Information Officer, Heather Kretzer. “The state does recognize there are some seasonal residents, and that is defined as somebody who lives here at least 31 days out of the year annually,” said Kretzer.
Residents must provide a driver’s license or a Florida issued I.D. at their vaccine appointment. However, seasonal residents have to meet a different set of requirements to get their vaccine such as providing bills or mail.
“That’s basically going to be things like their mortgage statement, any utility bills, any information like that, that they have for that residency or rental agreement but they have to have two forms for those particular instances,” said Kretzer.
Just charge them big if they got no Florida ID. Blue state customers.
Just offer the vaccine at the polling places et voila!...no need for an ID...problem solved. I’ll be here all weekend...
I’ve always wondered how many Northeast snowbirds voted twice, once at their winter residence in Florida and again by absentee ballot in New York or vice versa, depending on where they were at election time. They already have two different addresses. Does anyone check?
No. Every time I moved from one state to another, I had to notify the previous state to take me off their voter rolls.
To elect a national president by giving each state management of voter rolls is idiotic at best. That is one area where the framers messed up. I guess 250 years ago it was OK since people were not very mobile and were more honest.
The largest democracy with 800+ million voters also has many states. But the national election requires a national voter ID to vote.
COVID carpetbaggers
You obey the law. That is not what I was describing. One party wants every vote to count. The other party wants every legal vote to count once.
But voter ID is a bad thing.
Right.......
