“ Too many taxes.”
***********
Agree. However, I do think it’s time to apply a road tax to EV’s.
How about we agree to avoid taxation where ever possible, and never
suggest them? Please save us both the time of debating over you justifying it.
In Indiana, they are assessed a special registration fee each year to somewhat compensate. I haven’t done the math but I assume if you were a high yearly miles EV driver, you’d still come out ahead.
Actually, in Michigan the registration fee is more for an EV to make up for the loss of gas taxes. Just bought a commuter vehicle and was surprised the plates cast more.
Actually, in GA I pay punitive yearly special EV taxes that are far more than what I would pay in the equivalent gas car.
GA does have an annual EV road tax. $200. Knowing where it’s going, most drivers are willing to pay it (clear, direct, understandable, used as expected).
