Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said on Friday that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is sending the article of impeachment against former President Trump to the Senate on Monday, paving the way for a trial.
The House of Representatives this month voted to impeach Trump for the second time in his presidency for "incitement of insurrection" after a mob of his supporters besieged the Capitol on Jan. 6 in a failed attempt to stop the certification of then-President-elect Joe Biden's electoral college win.
"I've spoken to Speaker Pelosi who informed me that the article will be delivered to the Senate on Monday," Schumer, D-N.Y., said on the Senate floor Friday.
Pelosi confirmed her plan in a separate statement.
"We are respectful of the Senate’s constitutional power over the trial and always attentive to the fairness of the process, noting that the former president will have had the same amount of time to prepare for trial as our Managers," Pelosi said. "Our Managers are ready to begin to make their case to 100 Senate jurors through the trial process."
Schumer has been discussing how to organize the Senate and special rules for the upcoming impeachment trial with Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky.
No agreement has been reached on either front. If one is not on impeachment rules before Monday, then the standing Senate impeachment rules will go into effect, forcing the Senate to convene every day at 1 p.m., excluding Sundays, to consider the impeachment "until final judgment shall be rendered."
McConnell suggested a set of pre-trial procedures on Thursday that would delay the event by a few weeks, but the decision by Pelosi, D-Calif., instead sends the Senate potentially careening on a collision course with a full trial next week.

Art 2, Sect 4 clearly indicates that Potus shall be removed from office after being impeached. That is not possible. Trump is not Potus.
Art 1 additionally says the Chief Justice presides when the Potus is being impeached. Since Trump isn’t the potus, then potus isn’t being impeached. Therefore, the CJ does not preside.
Who will?
If he does,is that an accidental admission that Trump is really the Potus?
If the Senate is going to try Trump, then until he is “removed from office” they need to remove Biden from the White House.

The only way to make it clear to the GOP is to create the Trump led Patriot Party and destroy the Republican Party. If Jim Jordan and a few others are truly patriots they will join and help build the national organization. If not, then they are all talk, as was their former colleague Trey Gowdy.
In his remarks, Schumer said, “make no mistake, there will be a trial and when that trial ends senators will have to decide if they believe Donald John Trump incited the erection” — then corrected himself to say, “insurrection against the United States.”

Brian Broderson apparently muscled his way to the top when Chuck Smith was in his last years. He has not carried the Chuck Smith torch and there is a movement to restore the teachings of Chuck Smith.

One wonders if the combined effect of a Judicial Branch that refuses to hear a case on behalf of the President, combined with an Impeachment process for someone no longer in office, is in fact a Constitutionally proscribed Bill of Attainder focused on punishing the President. Congress acts knowing that the former President’s legal recourse has been, and will continue to be, forestalled by the Courts.
A single individual is being punished without a judicial proceeding by legislative fiat, for political purposes only, in an effort to deprive former President Trump of his right to hold office in the future, and to allow ancillary derogatory impacts by private individuals who will claim justification as a result of Congressional action, and to destroy him in his public life - tantamount to a public execution without the blood.
Article 1 Section 9 proscribed Bills of Attainder. The Courts have defined the term to include actions focused on a single individual subjected to a form of punishment without the normal judicial protections of due process by a non-political tribunal.
Since the Courts refuse to take up any case to properly hold a hearing on the actual evidence of wrongdoing, and since the largest politically charged body in the world proposed to prosecute Trump, there is no legal recourse for Trump to defend himself individually. Certainly, the impeachment trial cannot be viewed as a fair due process of law proceeding when the decision makers already harbor animosity to the target. Congress knows that the Court will politically wall of judicial recourse, as it has in the last few months.
Such is the effect of a Bill of Attainder.
If we do not stop this attack on our liberties now, it will only get worse. The key is to purge the judiciary, law enforcement, and the Department of Justice of the Corruption which protects the criminal enterprise now in control of Washington and many states. The corruption rots both parties from within and is not a sin of one or the other.
Alas, the only remedy is the people uniting stop corruption, and to force upon the government a system of fair and verifiable elections. We must take off the trappings of party, and focus on the trappings of American civil rights.
I guess we’ll see if any of them learned something from the results of Liz Cheney going against the will of the people. She is being primaried . . . and that is about the only thing that scares a gutless politician.

The goal is not to prevent Trump from running again. They already know they can steal an election. The goal is to keep him from coming back now. That’s why they are in such a rush.
That is awful! I sent some. Is there a better way? I doubt if mail would even get to President Trump.
