This means that oilfield workers on drilling rigs and other type equipment on federal lands would be effected hampering production. Ever thought of wearing a mask stifling your breathing working on a Derrick?
Yeah, right.
Joe and whose army is gonna make ‘em?
Can you imagine some G-man in a suit trying to tell a drilling crew to mask up or else?
Local buzzards would be pretty soon picking Egyptian wool outta their beaks.
Oil workers wear respirators as in full.face shield P100 respirators for 12 hours at a time while the frac sand trucks are on site. Silica is deadly bad for your lungs. As an Ops geologist I routinely work 2 or 3 weeks 24/7 then equal time off and while the frac ops are runing we all wear respirators on shift. Ruff necks are 12 hrs geos are 24 we sleep when we can some times its 48 hrs before they trip a bit and we get to rack out for the trip. Simply put oil workers are men and when told to wear a respirator in 100+ degree west Texas heat we do it like the real men we are and dont whine like toddlers about it. I have never seen anyone ever “pass out” or get low on O2 wearing a tight P100 respirator let alone some flimsy cloth its a myth.
