REPORT: Trump Discusses New ‘Patriot Party’ As Republicans Capitulate

President Trump reportedly discussed forming a new political party – the Patriot Party – after “feuding” with the Republican establishment.

The Wall Street Journal reported the following in its January 19th piece entitled “Trump Has Discussed Starting a New Political Party”:

President Trump has talked in recent days with associates about forming a new political party, according to people familiar with the matter, an effort to exert continued influence after he leaves the White House.

Mr. Trump discussed the matter with several aides and other people close to him last week, the people said. The president said he would want to call the new party the “Patriot Party,” the people said.

Mr. Trump has feuded in recent days with several Republican leaders including Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.), who on Tuesday said Mr. Trump deserved blame for provoking the deadly Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol. Polls show Mr. Trump retains strong support among rank-and-file GOP voters.

The Republican Party is dead-in-the-Water in exactly the same way that Rupert Murdoch’s Fox New Network is toast!!! Both organizations refuse to make the changes necessary to make them relevant.

So..without tons of words...Trump should do two things immediately...buy a TV news network or, start one and, then form a new political Party called “The American Patriot Party” (APP). Let the RINOS fail, as they stand alone with no political power and let the Trump Party grow leaps and bounds overnight as hundreds of the GOP Trump loyalists and millions of Americans join with Trump in the new party.

Get to it Trumpie...if you move quick enough the upcoming 2021 Mid-Term elections will be yours!!! Do it...Trumpie....”NOW”!!!

Actually, if they commiedems load the scotus with 15 instead of what we have now it gets even worse. The only hope I see is near complete drainage of the swamp. At that time look and see who is left in the Republican party. If its still dirty start a new one.

Back in olden times, Ross Perot/Perot supporters tried the same thing with the Reform Party. That ultimately went nowhere and the Uniparty went back to business as usual leading directly to the mess we have today.

Intetestingly, the branch of the Reform Party in Pennsylvania was officially named the Patriot Party.

I hope Trump goes ahead with this, and hope he is more successful, and not make the mistakes that Perot did.

With a huge enthusiastic base, Trump might just succeed.

I think you are on to something.

The GOP can act all cocky for a while but all Trump has to do is deny them enough votes to win anything and there’s their “existential threat”.

A Trump-led Patriot Party will be like the Libertarian Party on steroids at the ballot box. In the 2022 mid-term election, it will split the Republican ticket so much that the Democrat will win every race.

While tactically this may sound like a Bad Thing, strategically it will rid the Congress of RINOs who would normally win their races in a two-party contest. That's how we start getting rid of them.

The Dems will fracture and the split will deepen as constituents let them know know unpopular the radical leftist policies are. To save their cushy jobs and perks, moderate Dems will start to reform again and some of them may well find the Patriot Party aligns with their needs better than the radical socialists.

I think what will happen is this:

  1. Democrats always overplay their hand. They will rush to pass an extreme left-wing agenda, and Pelosi and Schumer will be all over the news saying that it's "mainstream."
  2. Democrats will show their incompetence at managing Big Government. They may be good at throwing "problems" at Republicans in charge, but they are not good at managing the day-to-day inner workings of things.
  3. Centrist Democrats would reject the leftward lurch of the party. They may have tolerated the talk when they were in the minority, but they will want no part of it when it looks like it will really happen. Boys in the girl's bathroom at Target was manageable, just don't shop at Target. But when it comes to their daughters' schools it's another matter. Boys beating girls at girl's sports, men dressed as women teaching children altered history, these will be too much for many working-class Democrats to bear.

The result of all this could well be coalition government which would be a first in the US but a welcome change from the Uniparty.

If the 2022 mid-term election goes like I suggested at the top, 2024 may actually come down to a House of Representatives election. If a Trump-led Patriot Party strengthens from 2022 to 2024, a Patriot Party candidate might get enough Electoral College votes such that nobody will reach 270. I suspect that the House will still be heavily dominated by old-guard GOP, so the Republican candidate will win, but the "existential threat" will have realized and become metastasized. 2026 will see a big #walkaway from the historical parties and 2028 might see the first President from a new Patriot Party.

The ONLY way to win going forward is to change the game. And the best way to predict the future is to create it.

Worth repeating.

Sounds like a good idea. Now would be the time to do it.

The establishment Republicans will never win another Presidential election again anyway. Bunch of cowards.

Make dominion a huge issue at your state capitals

Let’s invoke a constitutional convention to repeal the 17th Amendment

“ Third parties have typically failed to draw enough support to play a major role in national elections. Any effort to start a new party would likely face intense opposition from Republican party officials, who would chafe at the thought of Mr. Trump peeling off support from GOP candidates.”

Let’s go, Mr. President! #NotOneRedCent!”

I’m done bring a GOP stooge. I will never vote the Quisling Ticket again. I will have no problem voting for individuals or parties that, if they choose, can form coalitions with Republicans who might buck the uniparty.

Doubtful many GOP candidates would beat the Trump party candidates in the primaries. 75% of GOP voters that want the GOP to be more like Trump will join up and decide who wins.

The U.S. will never have a coalition government at the national level along the lines of a European-style parliamentary government. The days of regional parties are over, and as long as we maintain a winner-take-all system of elections we would inevitably and up with a bunch of dopes in office who get 35%-40% of the popular vote.

This is why the Reform Party was an utter failure and has effectively disappeared from the scene.

The key to building a “third party” political movement is to take several concrete steps right away:

1. Identify a coherent party platform with a small number of non-negotiable provisions that are rooted in common sense first and foremost. In fact, I’d suggest that the term “Common Sense Party” should be the most accurate description of this movement.

2. Start locally. Controlling state legislatures is far more important than fielding winning candidates in a House/Senate race or two.

3. The first step is not to RUN candidates in political races, but to ENDORSE them. Make the major parties beg for the votes of your supporters instead of fighting against them. Winning 30% of the vote in a three-way race accomplishes nothing if that becomes the norm.

4. Adopt comedy and in-your-face ridicule of empty-suit candidates and the political establishment as the stand approach to political campaigning. Viking Horn Guy should be a model for all of us to follow. Someone like that will start with a cult following that will get you 20% of the voters behind you with almost no effort at all.

A pragmatic new party would trade their support for the VP slot of the repub party, if their numbers looked concerning prior to the election.

Perhaps, but I have come to fear hearing the words "common sense" as they often lead to an irreversible loss of freedom, such as when politicians talk about "common sense gun laws".

“When seconds count, the police are just minutes away.” ... It doesn’t get any more common-sense than that.

Exposing the ineptitude — and even the malfeasance — of the police and their government masters should go a long way toward dispelling silly notions of “common sense gun laws.”

for me to be interested Trump would need to get at least 10 major republican senators and reps still holding office to leave the party and join the new party other wise its just a bull moose party and damage more then help the situation.
*******************

Surely you jest. I frankly don’t give a s..t any so-called Republicans join the new party we will form. In fact I would rather they just continue their lock step with the Democraps. Howeverthe Republicans like Cruz who were honest the whole way through this past 4 year debacle will be most welcome.

We need TX (good attitudes there) and the rest of the Red States and we need to separate completely from the Democraps...drawing the borders tightly around the Blue cites or Blue States and require passports and daily confirmation contact with those democraps who want to enter (sans their weapons, too)the Red State areas. Apparently they do not appreciate what we invent, make or grow, teach or develop in our areas. And especially we must make it clear that freedom of religion, speech, to carry...all the older Constitutional laws apply and especially the original Amendements will pertain...and whatever new ones meet with approval of our citizens. We must not forget the rights of women and people of different color or race. They will have their rights preserved.

I am so disgusted with all those who are anticonstitutionalists and religion haters. Actually, I would like to not see or hear in the whole of our reclaimed country another Muslim who is a Koran/Mohammed believer and user. I am not feeling to favorably about the Chinese leaders either. I think all those people should stay in China. .......in fact I am thinking maybe we should be very strict about those globalist elite mongers and insist they have a very good reason for stepping one foot inside our borders. We can do this, you know.
