I'm conflicted on this.
This may seem odd or perhaps even trivial at first pass...but if we leave the United States to create a new country...we leave behind George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and all the rest of the founders and framers. We leave behind their monuments. We leave behind our overall glorious history (warts and all). We leave behind the Stars and Strips and our national anthem and so forth.

NO, I dont see it that way. Read what they said about an abusive government and you will see that in spirit, we are following their wisdom.

As for monuments..they can be either moved or new built.
