Trump’s Next Move…The “Patriot Party”

We are the movement…it’s only just beginning…

President Trump has talked in recent days with associates about forming a new political party, according to people familiar with the matter, an effort to exert continued influence after he leaves the White House.

Mr. Trump discussed the matter with several aides and other people close to him last week, the people said. The president said he would want to call the new party the “Patriot Party,” the people said.

Mr. Trump has feuded in recent days with several Republican leaders including Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.), who on Tuesday said Mr. Trump deserved blame for provoking the deadly Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol. Polls show Mr. Trump retains strong support among rank-and-file GOP voters.

The White House declined to comment.

If we don’t get the GOP we will be politically homeless. Effectively are now already. I will use my vote to get Murkowski out rather than throwing it away to a no hope candidate.

Look at the 1912 election to see how that worked out. The Dems are laughing at us for even considering this.

I favor a takeover of the GOP from within. Ours is a winner-take-all system, and we need the unity of moderate conservatives and hard core conservatives to counter the liberal/Leftist coalition. We don’t have that unity, we lose. Primary all of the 10 who voted for impeachment V. 2.0, go after every squish Republican we can. Recall petitions where possible. Show them for the losers they are.

This all presumes, of course, fair elections...which is a whole other issue. If we don’t have those, all bets are off.

I believe it is time.

It is either that, or the country splits. I would sooner the country split and then form the Patriot Party within the New Republic.

Just what we need. split the vote and give the Dems a super majority and a free hand to do whatever they want. And you people think you will ever see this country again, the country that you loved? It will be over, stop smoking crack! this is a terrible idea

The GOP has a long history of colluding with progressive Democrats to defeat Republicans they don’t like. Either we play by their rules or we lose. It’s that simple. There is no door number 3 at this point.

Because the GOP, and Republican Party names are forever tainted.

Time for a new broom, a new name, bridge it if you want, but know that forever the old party is dead.
All that will be remaining as GOP are the pretenders, rinos, and miscreants.

I wouldn't "smear" CA in that way as I'm in State of Jefferson territory.

It's been tough in the past to get anyone "3rd" party elected because none of them had someone like Trump leading it. Who has ever had as much popularity as Trump...as a President...leave their political party and start a new one? Couple that with palatable hatred for the party he would leave?
We are in uncharted territory in many ways.

The new party would instantaneously have 10's of millions of registered voters. Unprecedented.

My sincere apologies rxsid!

I missed the link to WSJ under the headline. It looked like an add to me.

Is the WSJ on the trusted site list? It's hard to tell anymore.

You don’t have go back 100 years. Look at the 4 years of the GOP colluding with progressive Democrats to defeat POUTS and the MAGA agenda. The GOP is structurally corrupt and unreformable. It’s a fools errand to even try after the GOP controlled Senate certified an election stolen from a GOP POTUS to the tune of a 93-7 vote.

What we have to recognize is the old tactics don’t work and find new ones. This is a time for reflection and action. Starting another party is an obvious loser and shows you guys are thinking with your passions not your minds. We need to build another infrastructure and we are seeing that with start ups like parler and Gab. We need to cut our subscriptions and viewership of MSM. We need to organize. The corporate structure has become the enemy and we need to recognize that and become a more middle class and working class party and a party of the people. Starting a new party will just divide the vote and give the Dems a super majority where they will do what ever they want and it will be almost impossible to recover. That is just and obvious no go.

My idea is to get the Democrats to desert the Party

...and migrate to a new party based upon Classical Liberalism.

Now a lot of Democrat voters identify as ‘liberal’ but they are not really Liberals.
The Democrat Party is not a “Liberal” party.

It has stolen the name of an Honorable Political and Social Philosophy, Classical Liberalism
and have used it to hide behind and disguise their totalitarian nature.

If a new party would present the true nature of Classical Liberalism it may appeal to ‘liberals’

To do it only requires elucidation of the pillars of Classical Liberalism.

There is much literature handed down to us from the great thinkers of the past that outline the principle of Classic Liberalism and could be used in instruction.

Here is a post I made recently that dovetails with the above...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Conservatism’s underpinnings seem too nebulous to me.
When the Ayatollas or the Chinese leadership can be called conservative then the term has lost all functional value and meaning.
Now I am no expert but my study indicates that Classical Liberalism is based on solid principles.
Free Speech, Civil Discourse, Individualism...and more as described in the following... all of which were the bedrock of America as founded
Here is an article listing and elucidating the Principles of Classical Liberalism...
https://www.rationalargumentator.com/index/blog/2014/07/principles-classical-liberalism/
Principle 1. The life of each individual is an absolute and universal moral value. No non-aggressive individual’s life, liberty, or property may be legitimately sacrificed for any goal.
Principle 2. Every individual owns his body, his mind, and the labor thereof, including the physical objects legitimately obtained through such labor.
Principle 3. Every individual has the right to pursue activities for the betterment of his life – including its material, intellectual, and emotional aspects – by using his own body and property, as well as the property of consenting others.
Principle 4. The rights of an individual to life, liberty, and property are inherent to that individual’s nature. They are not granted by other human beings, and they cannot be taken away by any entity.
Principle 5. The initiation of physical force, the threat of such force, or fraud against any individual is never permissible – irrespective of the position and character of the initiator. However, proportionate force may be used to retaliate and defend against aggression.
Principle 6. The sole fundamental purpose of government is to protect the rights of individuals by engaging in actions specifically delegated to the government by its constituents. Government is not the same as society, nor is the government entitled to sacrifice some non-aggressive individuals to advance the well-being of others.
Principle 7. Every individual has the absolute right to think and express any ideas. Thought and speech are never equivalent to force or violence and ought never to be restricted or to be subject to coercive penalties. Specifically, coercion and censorship on the basis of religious or political ideas are not acceptable under any circumstances.
Principle 8. Commerce, technology, and science are desirable, liberating forces that are capable of alleviating historic ills, improving the quality of human life, and morally elevating human beings. The complete freedom of trade, innovation, and thought should be preserved and supported for all human beings in the world.
Principle 9. Accidents of birth, geography, or ancestry do not define an individual and should not result in manmade restrictions of that individual’s rights or opportunities. Every individual should be judged purely on his or her personal qualities, including accomplishments, character, and knowledge.
Principle 10. There are no “natural” or desirable limits to human potential for good, and there is no substantive problem that is necessarily unsolvable by present or future human knowledge, effort, and technology. It is a moral imperative for humans to expand their mastery of the universe indefinitely and in such a manner as will reinforce the survival and flourishing of all non-aggressive individuals.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

A party is needed that in some form stands upon these bedrock Principles

One advantage may be that ‘liberals’ think that they are ‘liberals’ even though often their interpretation of Classical Liberalism is flawed and incomplete.

They have stolen the name of a noble Political and Social Philosophy and use it to hide and disguise their totalitarian bent.

But the ones that are attracted by the term liberal, and can be taught what Classical Liberalism actually is,
may become attracted to it and help espouse it to other ‘liberals’ giving birth to Classical Liberals.

There are many online resources that can deepen your understanding and appreciation of Classical Liberalism.

I couldn’t disagree more. Two right of center parties will guarantee the democrats stay in power. No, the answer is to take control of the Republican Party. Trump people are already in control of most state organizations now. Solidify that control and then develop 50 powerhouse state parties with Trump-like platforms. We are already on the road to winning 2022 and 2024 by doing it this way. That is how we will win. Don’t try to re-invent the wheel.

Count me in. The “Grand Ole’ Party” is dead to me.

Please do not leave the GOP.

Remain a member so you can purge the RINOs in the 2022 primary.

Make them pay for their treachery!

Also, the Uniparty will conspire to make sure any third party of patriots is not allowed on the ballot!

Why should WE leave the GOP? Purge the RINO scum!
