There was a rumor going around that if you went to one of his book signings you could invite him out for drinks and he would always take up the offer. I never had the guts to ask.

In any case he seems to have settled down in his old age.

He is very funny, but too libertarian for my taste which is why I think he didn't like Trump: O'Rourke is definitely a freetraitor who hates tariffs.
