The Poconos could be renamed West Jersey. There a a lot of New Yorkers too. They’ve been moving in for decades and really changing the area and not for the good.
I once worked with a former Pocono area teacher who said it was tough teaching 2 completely different cultures in the same school. And that was in the 80s.
Property taxes went so high a lot of people couldn’t afford
to stay even if the house was paid for so it isn’t just Dems moving in, a lot of Republicans moved out.

Yep - when we (AF) fielded a new set of comm equipment and Tobyhanna got the contract for support, we joked that they wanted to prove that their previous failures at parts support had not bee a fluke.
It was not odd to get “replacement” parts that were corroded and ate up from spending time in an outdoor storage area where old broken equipment was cannibalized for parts to be sent out to “fix” communications equipment.
