Parler CEO ‘confident’ platform will return by month’s end after weekend of positive developments

Parler chief executive officer John Matze is "confident" that his social media platform will be back online in the near future after his team was able to launch a static website and recover the company’s data over the weekend in a series of positive developments.

"I’m confident that by the end of the month, we’ll be back up," Matze told Fox News during a telephone interview on Sunday night.

Parler registered its domain with host sharing website Epik last week, following Amazon Web Services' decision to shut Parler down for failure to moderate "egregious content" related to the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. The move was a tiny-yet-important step that helped Matze realize his aggressive timeframe for Parler’s eventual return is realistic.

"Every day it changes wildly, but I feel confident now," Matze said. "We’re making significant progress. When you go into Parler.com it doesn’t go into the void now, it hits a server, and it returns just one piece of information"

Parler had been down since Amazon Web Services cut it off, but now fan of the popular social media platform are at least able to hear from Matze himself.

"Hey is this thing on?" Matze wrote in the first update when the static page was laucnhed. "Now seems like the right time to remind you all — both lovers and haters — why we started this platform. We believe privacy is paramount and free speech essential, especially on social media. Our aim has always been to provide a nonpartisan public square where individuals can enjoy and exercise their rights to both. We will resolve any challenge before us and plan to welcome all of you back soon. We will not let civil discourse perish!"

Our return is inevitable due to hard work, and persistence against all odds. Despite the threats and harassment not one Parler employee has quit. We are becoming closer and stronger as a team.

We also need to figure out ways to finance alternative platforms that are not totally beholden to big tech.

Hopefully he will eventually migrate to his own server and all that.

I miss them. I’ve been going there since May and I never saw any violence. I guess it’s just what ever you look for.

I downloaded the App the day it was taken off the App Platform.

I’ll give it a shot if it comes back. The big thing to me
is that he gets it back up and those who want to go there
can.

Nobody should be telling others they can’t talk in public.

I liked that they have a way of muting offensive people.

Coin peddlers, too. That was so annoying.

I also downloaded the app to my iPad while it was still available in the App Store and used it for a few days before Apple removed it from the App Store. I can’t find it on my desktop even though it still shows as an app in Settings. Any idea how to get it active? I did turn off the auto update feature when Apple made its initial threat.

I am not aware of how to get that app back to active status.

I had an app that I used all the time. It was the most robust
picture joining tool I’ve ever seen. It would join photos
sideways like all the others, but it also joined rows of
pictures.

You could take 42 photos 7 wide by 5 deep, and it would join
them all together perfectly.

I paid the fee to get it on my device. To me that’s an
agreement between us that product is mine. I didn’t set
the agreement. They did. They sold it to me.

That didn’t give me ownership rights, like I could sell
it. It was just an own use agreement. That should not
vanish just because the owner takes his product off their
service.

Apple lost the app on it’s store due to a sale of the
item by the owner. When I changed phones, that app was
removed from my phone.

I was very angry about it, and I called Apple and gave
their rep hell over it.

Luckily, I have three devices, and on one of them that
app still lives. I still use it.

Sorry about your problem.

If there was a place where deleted apps went, it would
seam you can ask the device to reactivate it, but I’m
not sure that sort of thing exists.

It can be very frustrating dealing with Apple. Big
corporations don’t give a flying fig about service.

The fickled finger of fate is about the only response
you’ll get from them.
