ATLANTA (AP) — Former President Jimmy Carter and former first lady Rosalynn Carter will not attend President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration. It marks the first time the couple, 96 and 93, will have missed the ceremonies since Carter was sworn in as the 39th president in 1977.
A spokeswoman at The Carter Center in Atlanta said the Carters have sent Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris their “best wishes” and “look forward to a successful administration.”
Biden was a young Delaware senator and Carter ally during the Georgian’s term in the White House.

Who’s Jimmuh foolin’?
Jimmuh and Obama both want the stink of Biden-Harris’ administration to keep their own terms off the worst presidents’ lists.
Hillary a few months after that.
Did he go to his friend Fidel’s funneral?
“Jimmy Carter was an inept and hapless fool”
Forgive me but he was a Naval Nuclear Officer back in the day, I doubt ADM Rickover would put some inept officer on one of his nuke boats, just my two cents.
Nah...neither of them have the strength to drag the 30 pieces of silver Jimmie got for selling out our country
If all the voting is rigged, why would anyone on their side care whether Kamala gets ten years or less? She’ll just be replaced by another leftwing extremist under the rigged system. Heck they might just get rid of term limits while they’re at it. Remember their saint FDR decided he wanted to be a tyrant for life.
what does “get the envelope” mean?
Valid point. With a lock on power, the Left doesn’t need the edge of incumbancy.
You would think Hillary would at least offer them her hospital plane, they’re only 96 and 93.
We all like to bash Jimmy as a terrible POTUS. That is true. He was. At least he did not make himself rich after holding the job. He went back to Plains, GA and built houses for poor people with Habitat for Humanity. If he could have just kept his mouth shut, it would have been better.
Jimmy also did not get a special envelope at GHW Bush’s funeral.
He also was a Navel Officer.
With the criticism and defenders of Jimmy Carter on this thread, it makes me think everyone needs to clarify what the criteria are, for their judgments.
Someone objected to criticism of Carter because Carter was a naval officer under Hyman Rickover. Okay, if we want to analyze Jimmy’s career in the Navy, and judge his naval career, we can do that.
If we want to offer praise for his charity work with Habitat for Humanity, we can do that. Few here would say that Carter was an effective or successful president. But I think all would agree, the criteria for evaluating his presidency are different than criteria used to review other aspects of his life.
If the criteria are that we want to evaluate the Carter presidency, then we would use different criteria than if we look at his charity work.
Carter is only 18 years older than Bidung.
A better man than McCain.

For sure.
Jimmy Carter was the only Democrat I ever supported (but that ended early in his presidency).
I liked Ford, but I thought we needed a break from Nixon, and that meant from his successor, as well. I figured Carter was a Southerner, a former naval officer (nuclear subs), and was not batshit crazy; and he seemed to have at least some values that regular Dems lacked.
That’s the smartest thing Jummah has ever done.
He knows this election was stolen, since he personally was involved in looking for election fraud in foreign countries.
He's trying to keep as much integrity as he can (even though it was a small amount) in his last days.
“Forgive me but he was a Naval Nuclear Officer back in the day, I doubt ADM Rickover would put some inept officer on one of his nuke boats, just my two cents.”
Being good at one thing doesn’t necessarily mean you are good at another.
Albert Einstein was a genius, but would you really want him as the leader of a country? ANY country?
Who isn’t?
Post of the thread!
“He also was a Navel Officer.”
Well, John McCain was a NAVAL officer, as was John Kerry. The ultimate traitor John Walker was a senior warrant officer in the Navy. So...
