Sen. Rand Paul, Kentucky Republican, warned Friday that Senate Republicans will “destroy the party” if they vote to convict President Trump.
Mr. Paul, who previously condemned the U.S. Capitol rioting and voted against objections to the 2020 presidential election, said one-third of voters would leave if Senate Republicans get behind the “insane and wrongheaded” impeachment push.
“Look, I didn’t agree with the fight that happened last week, and I voted against overturning the election, but at the same time, the impeachment is a wrongheaded, partisan notion,” said Mr. Paul on Fox’s “The Ingraham Angle.” “But if Republicans go along with it, it’ll destroy the party.”
“A third of the Republicans will leave the party,” Mr. Paul said. “This isn’t about, anymore, about the Electoral College, it’s about the future of the party, and whether you’re going to ostracize and excommunicate President Trump from the party. Well, guess what? Millions of his fans will leave as well.”

Only a third?.....probably closer to 2/3’s......
Too late, Rand. Certifying a brazenly stolen election 93-7 in the GOP controlled Senate is what destroys a party.
Sorry Senator, but that horse has already left the barn. The do-nothing Repubs just don’t know it yet.
There was no evidence /S
I changed my registration to independent last week
Rand, you are in a party that is already “Dead Man Walking.”
They have already destroyed the party with 4 years of anti Trump capped off by this last 3 months. Too late Rand.
Sounds like Rand is ready to abandon the sinking ship.
I have already deplatformed the Republican party from my voter registration
They had a made up translation of a phone call that someone that didn’t hear it thought he may have said the first time. And that’s more evidence then they have this time. His speech we all heard was fine and he asked for peace. And he put out a video while it was happening calling for peace but they deleted it and banned his account so people couldn’t see it. Main stream media would not show it. They wanted to do this..
Hopefully they will listen to Rand Paul. His father Ron Paul was one of the very few who voted against and openly spoke against America’s invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan. He accurately foretold the terrible consequencefor American and even how it would usher in the destructive election and policies of a man like Obama. Ron Paul was an American Cassandra.
In Georgia, we do not have party affiliation as part of our registration.....
No need to do anything.....
However, we don’t have fair elections either.....Sigh...
When did we leapfrog over the serious issue of even legally conducting a trial after President Trump is out of office?
Let the republican party die.
Let’s start a new movement, a new party.
Call it the unity party, or whatever, as long as it seeks to be inclusive, with former republicans and conservatives as members, and libertarians, and former democrats who got tired of being left behind by a party that only cared about the party and not about what’s best for the country and its citizens.
Hmm... who would lead such a movement. I have in idea...
Perhaps a former president that had his election stolen by a massive election fraud. I’m not naming that former president. His name is toxic to democrats and to their media buddies. But, we all know who he is.
They have already destroyed the party with 4 years of anti Trump capped off by this last 3 months. Too late Rand.
Romney Republicans are just fine with that. They want to get rid of Trump voters and are comfortable being a minority. They know they can dupe a large percent of weak and surrender minded GOP voters into still voting for them. That’s all they want for now to prevent a viable third party.
Maybe that will end when we get rid of the traitorous SOS and governor.
WHAT party is he talking about? The GOP is already dead
The GOP is already dead, they just don’t know it yet.
Failure to defend Trump is the red line, not voting to convict.
Rand fails to support.
