With Trump almost gone, there’s a new drug in town against COVID-19: Hopefully, unlike Hydroxycholoroquine, there will be no big opposition against Ivermectin

When Trump entered the White House, the left gave everything he did a political spin. That escalated in 2020 when Democrats used the Wuhan virus for political ends. It’s reasonably certain they deliberately destroyed the economy to gain the White House. Even worse, after Trump praised Hydroxychloroquine, they made it impossible to give the drug a fair shake, possibly causing tens of thousands to die, for no other reason than to deny Trump a “win.” With Trump on his way out, though, there’s starting to be chatter about a common anti-parasite drug called Ivermectin.

(Please be mindful as you read that this article is not providing medical advice. It is merely discussing a new medical theory about treating the Wuhan virus.)

I first heard about Ivermectin’s efficacy against the Wuhan virus last week, from my hairdresser, who is Brazilian. She told me that everyone in her family took some drug, the name of which she couldn’t remember, for treating lice and no one got the virus. In fact, she said, everyone she knew in Brazil was taking this lice drug. I looked it up when I returned home.

Ivermectin goes back to 1970, when Satoshi Ōmura of Kitasato University and William Campbell of Merck, working together, discovered that a family of bacteria called the avermectins would cure mice of roundworm. Ivermectin is now routinely used to treat multiple parasitical infections.

Because it can be taken orally or applied topically, it works for everything from headlice to pinworms. Even if you haven’t taken it, you’ve probably given it to a dog or cat at one time or another.

In tropical climates, Ivermectin has also been studied for diseases characteristic of those regions, such as yellow fever, malaria, and river blindness. It may even help fight nonalcoholic fatty liver disease.

I bought Ivermectin from Tractor Supply in December. I inject a small amount in hardboiled eggs and leave them for the foxes. Cures their mange.>>>
That good to know. The older fox probably gone now was very mangy looking. The two yesterday had good coats. I bought my tube over the internet. Apple flavored for horse heart worms.

I have some horse paste on hand

I have been taste testing apple flavored Ivermectin since late November. FLCCC.Net tells me it helps to prophylactically prevent covid-19.

What a coincidence, had an outbreak at my job, all the senior staff but me got it. Weird. I wonder if there is any connection?

That’s Confused information. Ivermectin is commonly used as Heartgard, and as other named canine meds, for canine heartworm.
In horses, ivermectin (1.87%) is used against many internal parasites, the so-called bloodworms, roundworms, bots, etc.

If one is to look for a horse dewormer product source of ivermectin, several things to consider. Eqvalan paste, Duramectin paste, are ivermectin 1.87% with no other added drugs. DO not confuse with EquiMAx, which also contains prqaziquantel for equine tapeworm, nor Zimectrin Gold.(same)
And avoid any other products that are gels, not paste, unless there is a desire to have a purging.
And finally, DO NOT USE any injectable or pour-on cattle or swine products. Just don’t; no need to explain why.

My thoughts are the apple flavored Duramectin is likely a favorite; my use of Eqvalan paste reminded me of the old white paste in first grade.

Dosage for mammals of all kinds seems to be 200mcg/kg. Which means the horse labeled tube for 1200 pounds will do six 200# doses. Elsewhere, i have read dose on day one of suspected infection, day three, and day seven.

But i’m just a damned OLD horse vet, so all i know is manure.

Ivermectin most certainly isn’t ‘new’.

There was heavy talk bout it in March & April last year.

No it won’t, the fear porn must continue so we can all be subjugated to a totalitarian state.

The biggest piece of this is to get everyone vaccinated (which doesn’t provide immunity) so that when those who have been vaccinated get hit with the wild virus they will be susceptible to antibody-dependent amplification (ADE).

Since the best stuff available isn’t a sure thing, I’d say that if it changes the odds in one’s favor, I won’t poo-poo it.
But you are correct - too many see something that can be useful and they assume it’s the “magic cure”, so caution is appropriate.

How many have been killed by the side effects?

The dosage and protocol has to be supervised by your doctor.
