A wealthy, 89-year-old artificial sweetener magnate who made Sweet’N Low a household name has committed suicide by jumping from his Park Avenue apartment building, law enforcement sources told The Post.
Donald Tober, CEO and co-owner of the New York-based 1,400-employee Sugar Foods, leapt to his death just after 5 a.m. Friday, and was found in the courtyard of the luxury Upper East Side building between 65th and 66th streets, the sources said.
He was struggling with Parkinson’s disease, the sources said.

coulda been an accident too- if he was unsteady- not sure how high the wall on the deck banister was if that is where he fell from?

doesn’t actually say where he fell or leapt from- but having parkinsons, he might not have been very steady on feet perhaps? But again, article didn’t mention if there was a balcony or not
Monk fruit is not really a “fake sugar”. However if you overuse it, it can have some really nasty side effects. Nothing painful, just embarrassing.
FWIW, I drink dark roast coffee, Black, no sweetener and no cream.
Yup.. me too.. instant headache the first time I had aspertane.. Probably a good thing since it made me stop drinking diet soda.
I wasn’t talking about Mon Fruit, Stevia, etc. I meant the artificial ones.

I hate stevia. Yeah, it’s “natural” but it still “leaves“ an aspartame aftertaste.
Monk fruit is genuinely sweet like sugar. But I still use it sparingly.
I discovered an amazing diet drink. It’s called water.
If you order it at a restaurant, the waitress will assume you’re a cheapskate and you’re going to leave a little tip. I use the money I save from not buying a soda or ice tea and add it to the tip.

I found I had an allergic reaction to aspartame. I don’t like any artificial sweeteners.
I’ve also found I do better with my weight now that I’ve cut out soda and its high-fructose corn syrup, and just drink water.
