Governor Abbott Says Texas Should Be a “Second Amendment Sanctuary”
The Texan ^ | 01/15/202 | Daniel Friend

Posted on 01/15/2021 5:03:56 PM PST by DFG

One year ago, a wave of Texas counties began declaring that they were “Second Amendment sanctuaries.” Now Governor Greg Abbott has said that he wants the entire state to be a gun rights haven.

“I want to make sure that Texas becomes a Second Amendment sanctuary state so that no government official at any level can come and take your gun away from you, despite those people who said, ‘Heck yes, we’re going to take your gun,’” said Abbott during the Texas Public Policy Foundation’s 2021 Policy Orientation.

“We’re gonna say, ‘Heck no, you cannot take people’s guns away in Texas,’” said Abbott in a self-censored reference to Beto O’Rourke’s quip during his presidential campaign.

Though O’Rourke’s line on the debate stage in Houston was meant to rally support from pro-gun control voters, it roused the concerns of pro-Second Amendment supporters.

All of the red states on the 2020 presidential election map should be Second Amendment sanctuaries.

There's an idea in there..

Let's have the still red states motivate those republicans and conservatives in blue states to move to the red states.

Low state or no state taxes. No liberal repression.

Perhaps throw in one year of no real-estate taxes for purchase of a new home. Warmer weather. No Newsom, no Cuomo, no DeBlasio, no AOC. Full support of the constitution and all our rights.

I’d like to see an ammendment in FL that prohibits voing for DC statehood, Eliminating the EC, etc. An automatic “no” for all.

Wonder if that’s legally possible?

If Abbott is really serious about gun rights, he will submit to the Legislature and get passed a bill that designates every single holder of a CHL as a deputy state trooper. This would allow every holder of a CHL, as a “law enforcement officer” to be able to purchase full autos under the exception to that hideous violation of the Constitution, Title 18, Section 922(o). A few million full autos in this state would act to dissuade federal authorities from coming here to take anyone’s guns far better than any sanctuary state declaration.

That’s how you state to destroy unconstitutional gun control - by getting in their face and daring them to do anything about it.

My County is a Second Amendment Sanctuary County, first one in Arizona. After we passed it, several others followed. I am So proud to have been the one who brought it forward.

Texas will do this and our Gov, Lt Gov and our great AG ken Paxton will have our full unwavering support. To truly secure the second amendment rights and the safety of the citizens of Texas we will also need to revoke the jurisdiction of federal agents who may attempt to enforce federal gun laws.

Actually if we do this correctly no federal gun law will apply here. This would include the unconstitutional and very dangerous federal NFA and 1968 GCA. This would allow the free transfer possession and manufacturing of any type of firearm for individuals as the second amendment was originally intended. This is very important as one of the long term effects of banning possession of weapons freely available to government agents is one of the very reasons we now face a government emboldened and determined to impose tyranny.

Puhleeeez! I too am a Texas. What precisely are you going to do when the Humvees pull up outside your house, surround you and your family...what exactly are you going to do?
Oh, I get it, you’ve got an AR...Wow!

You’re probably too young to know anything about the Waco Siege.

Biden is going to have that other GREAT TEXAN (along with those staunch Republicans Cornyn and Abbott), Beto O’Rourke, working on making the 2nd Amendment nothing more than an aspiration.

This is just one of many bills already introduced...these will pass as easily as the latest impeachment measure. www.congress.gov/bill/117th-congress/house-bill/127/all-info?r=17&s=1

The January 20th 50-state-capital-armed-demonstration, another Reichstag false flag event, could be the nail in the coffin for us gun owners.

It’s been a fun ride everyone. Time to bend over and take it for the next 4 years.

Good - if we are to oppose the gun grabbers, the States will have to stand up and tell the Feds where to shove it.

You sound like Eeyore...whoa always me, nothings right today.

No..no..you’re like that song on Hee Haw, cuz I am old enough to remember Hee Haw.

Doom despair and agony on me, deep dark depression excessive misery, if weren’t for bad luck I’d have no luck at all...doom despair and agony on me. hahaha

So have a cup of coffee. Today will be a better day.

And no, I do not own an AR. Thought ya knew me?

Would that be with or without lube? Have fun grabbing your ankles as for this TEXAN, it’s Texit only.

What is also needed, and FAST, is a set of laws to PREVENT the packing of Democrat voters via Amnesty. Basically, our own screening system of who’s allowed to vote - maybe based on our existing citizenship laws, which would mean 5 years (at least) of residency here, legally, and speaking English.

And, of course, we need to take over the running of elections from the Third World types in the cities, as they’re clearly cheating there (with the recent arrest being just one example) and maybe have elections run at the state or regional level, rather allowing what happened in Georgia.

But the BIG QUESTION now is whether Abbott and other Republicans here can figure this out in time - because if not, they’ll simply be ‘voted out’ in 2022...given what the Dems know they can get away with, plus the upcoming mass Amnesty.
