Biden's Going to 'Lift 12M Americans Out of Poverty and Cut Child Poverty in Half'

President-($)elect Joe Biden on Thursday night announced his American Rescue Plan, which he said "will tackle the pandemic and get direct financial assistance and relief to Americans who need it the most."

The plan comes with a big price tag ($1.9 trillion) and lofty promises, as Biden described:

Direct cash payments, extended unemployment insurance, rent relief, food assistance, keeping essential frontline workers on the job, aid to small businesses. These are the key elements to the American Rescue Plan that would lift 12 million Americans out of poverty and cut child poverty in half. That's 5 million children lifted out of poverty if we move.

Our plan will reduce poverty in the black community by one-third. It will reduce poverty in the Hispanic community by almost 40 percent and it includes much more, like an increase in the minimum wage to at least $15 an hour. People tell me that's going to be hard to pass. Florida just passed it. As divided as that state is, they just passed it. The rest of the country is ready to move as well.

It should be a national minimum wage of $15 an hour. No one working 40 hours a week should live below the poverty line. That's what it means. If you work for less than $15 an hour and work 40 hours a week, you're living in poverty. It includes access to affordable childcare that will enable parents, particularly women, to get back to work.

That’s what LBJ said with the “War on Poverty”. Forgive me if I don’t hold my breath.

What a joke. By the time the media is done with him, Bidumb will have a birth and origin similar to the birth and origination story of the Kim’s in North Korea.

Our plan will reduce poverty in the black community by one-third.

Donald Trump......creates an economic environment with the lowest black unemployment in history and night wages for the black middle class.

Not good enough. I guess that graft and money laundering train has to start rolling again.

What happened to the $850,000,000 that DeBlasio’s wife was supposed to take care of?

Joe Biden is gonna cut impoverished children in half! Well, actually, his Planned Parenthood backers are gonna go it... and, well, it’s more than just half... could be into 8 or 10 pieces.

Businesses will just lay off or not hire new people in order to meet the $15 minimum wage. Raise prices, use point-of-sale kiosks/order online instead. Maybe even cut the hours they’re open, but they’re not going to take the hit.

Lots of people still below the poverty line, maybe just re-imagine that line. It’s all good when the unicorns are pooping skittles!

Close.

78.6 million Americans were forced on the Unemployment at some time in 2020, mainly through Democrat lockdowns.

Sure some jobs came back. But most had to take a 25% to 75% pay cut in their new minimum wage starter job career.

Biden just has about 1.2 million jobs to go for this.

12 million “Americans”? He plans on giving Indians 10 million employment based green cards, and lifting or eliminating the H1B visa cap, giving legal residence to 500,000 illegal alien Indians. That’s about 12 million there.

I know this is a stupid question, but I wonder if the media will be keeping track of all these Biden promises. Every little bit of Trump hyperbole was added to his so called list of a million lies, but Biden’s will be forgotten or just written off as well eaning slight exaggerations.

And he'll probably do it, because the vaccines are now available, the economy will be re-opened in a month or two, and people will go back to work. But this totally predictable outcome will be attributed to his genius and leadership.

As soon as Biden's presidency was assured, Democrat governors started talking about opening up the schools and loosening shutdown rules. The shutdowns had served their purpose.

On 1/1/20 the Unemployment Rate was 3.2%. Talk about taking people...young and old...out of poverty!!! But then Rat Party Headquarters, and their “expert” pals, found a way to bring the economy to its knees.

“Businesses will just lay off or not hire new people in order to meet the $15 minimum wage. Raise prices, use point-of-sale kiosks/order online instead. Maybe even cut the hours they’re open, but they’re not going to take the hit.”

Exactly! All that and more — for instance, many people will start doing things (cook, mow, etc.) for themselves rather than paying for personal services that have doubled in price. That will lead to more of those lay offs.

The macro-economic picture will likely be worse. Debt levels, like we’ll soon see, usually cause inflation — inflation that could quickly wipe out the gains to the minimum wage.
