The reaction (including the impeachment) to the riot was one of the worst rush-to-judgments I've ever seen in my life. Before there had even been a preliminary investigation into who the rioters were or why there was so little security for so large an event, an event which would likely attract counter-protesters.

And now, at least one BLM member has been charged, and it is highly unlikely that he was the only BLM or ANTIFA person in the building. Even worse, we are now hearing reports that the FBI had advance intelligence about planned violence and STILL did not increase the security presence.

And why would DC Mayor Muriel Bowser, a well-known Trump hater, refuse National Guard assistance to handle a huge group of people she regards as fascists?

I remember after the media and the Democrats spent 8 years bashing Bush, they had to turn around and play defense when Obama was elected. It wasn’t that difficult for them, because Bush was unpopular, and Bush was fine with Obama trashing him. And Obama was very popular.
