We didn’t get squat: No direct deposit; no paper check; no EIP card. Nada. Zilch. We went on the IRS site and we were told a stimulus payment was “NOT AVAILABLE,” and that we would have to request it as a credit when we file our 2020 taxes, if applicable. We are seniors and are retired, so we do not fall within the income exclusionary zone. Perhaps it is because we are registered Republicans, and have been CANCELED by Deep State. It would not at all surprise me.

Yes, but the point is they use an intermediary to process the cards through a credit card or ACH network. What they are talking about is sending you a card that is ONLY tied to a blockchain on the Fed network.
It will be refillable and you will be assigned an “address”. In fact if you could remember a 36 character address, you could buy and sell without even a card.
Most people will use a QR code on their phone.
