I think it’s an extreme version of the Rule of Stupids: Don’t go to stupid places with stupid people at stupid times to do stupid things.

As well-intentioned as I really believe Rittenhouse was, traveling to Kenosha to walk the city streets after a curfew during a riot while openly carrying a rifle rather flagrantly violated each element of the Rule, regardless of any good deeds he did while there.

While I agree with you that special prudence is required, especially when you’re on trial for murder, the following polemic is the other side of the coin:

[The Republican party is and has been a den of rats and snakes, and still is. But for those few stalwart supporters of Trump, who were and are willing to stand up to the forces of wokeness, (AOC, Pelosi, Schumer, et al), and tell them to eat shit and die, there is at least some honor in resistance.

It’s not about Trump. It’s about his enemies, and his enemies are the enemies of Heritage America, and all unapologetic white people.

Here’s a clue: they hate your white guts with a genocidal rage. If they can’t castrate (and then kill you), they at least demand that you’re on your knees, begging forgiveness from them for your existence.

Simply staying off your knees, is enough to drive them insane with bloodlust for your throat.

Just look at how they lost their bladders because Kyle Rittenhouse had a beer with some supporters.

He’s supposed to be contrite! And look at him!! Smiling as if he wasn’t a white guy!!!

How dare white men smile and have a good time! They’re white men! Trump has lost! How dare they show themselves outside their homes without masks on!!!!]

I am impressed by Rittenhouse’s bravado. Then again, deep thinkers aren’t generally well-represented on the front lines of any conflict. And all movements need vanguards unconcerned with personal consequences.
