Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has been accused of proposing a 'Ministry of Truth' following her suggestion that a government commission needs to 'reign in' the press in order to stop 'misinformation.'
The New York Democrat made the remarks in an Instagram livestream on Tuesday, saying her colleagues in Congress were discussing 'how we rein in our media environment so that you can't just spew disinformation and misinformation.'
The comment drew furious backlash from free speech advocates and conservative critics, who accused the self-avowed Democratic Socialist of hatching a dystopian plan to establish government control over news outlets and journalists.

I find it hilarious, and terribly pathetic, that this is an actual reality.

AOC is talking about “reining in” criticism of her and the left, which boils down to reporting the truth. That’s what she’s concerned about.
At this point I given up caring and just sitting on my porch drinking a nice beverage, reading a book, with classical music in the background just watching and laughing at this ****show.
I’m mostly the same, but no drink and reading is inside here outside of Philly. I’ve been going for hikes, doing yoga, and meditating.
I am calm and far more level headed now.
I quit watching sports, and train for old timer track and field.
It seems the only good, personally, to come from this nonsense is a self adjustment.
For me I really amped up my reading. I have not watched any news for weeks now. A s you might have noticed, I have been binge watching period dramas. My change in habits has done wonders for my sanity
Same here with respect to reading. I haven’t watched any news in months, and even took a month off of FR last year. I will pass on the period dramas, and will take 80’s movies and sci-fi/action/fantasy flicks.
Not to sound all hippie like, but if you can slow your mind down and not concern yourself with past and future, you feel far better than before.
