Our “public servants” really do have this level of entitlement. I wonder if it’s a requisite to run these days, or if it comes upon them after being in office. Judging from some of the newer members (such as bimbo Cortez), it’s a requisite for running (of course judging by her and others, a need for attention-of any kind-is also a requisite-what a laugh that she would say that other members of Congress wanted to turn her over to a murderous “white supremacist” mob-sounds like she’s expressing a fantasy to me). Imagine voting themselves raises while declaring that American citizens shouldn’t receive some of their tax money back to help them overcome the financial repercussions of draconian covid regulations.

Take your disputes elsewhere; common carrier service is “don’t piss off anyone else, we’re in this together.”
Stooge? It’s not political. It’s “if you want apolitical service, be polite.” If you can’t behave while someone else is merely present, politely remove yourself and take the next round of service.

It may very well be, but that alone does not guide decision making. Conservatives are sadly mistaken when they presume that people/corporations are always guided by the economic self-interest and are expected to act rationally at all times.
The fact is, this is projection. They often don’t.
The same reasoning was used not long before WWI to argue European powers will never go to war with each other because they were too connected economically and had too much to lose in the event of war. It was a popular theory at the time.
