Methinks you misunderstood the article, the REPUBLICAN leadership is punishing other REPUBLICAN members for fighting Democrat electoral theft.
Note Democrats rarely discipline other Democrats publicly no matter what they do, (eg Alcee Hastings, Bill Clinton, Eric Swalwell).
Schumer's going after Feinstein is a very rare triple exception, since she is not only a Dem, but a woman, and a fellow Jew.
At this point I’d be happy if they just fix the voting system in these states though evidently a governor can chose to ignore his own state’s laws and do what he wants (Ex: Georgia).
Who is the person with the power to do this? Who did it?

Yes, but Georgia's treacherous LtGov Geoff Duncan believes that only four senators signed the letter to Vice President Pence. Many times that number actually signed the letter, so Duncan's support in the Georgia Senate is weaker than he thinks. I regret voting for him in 2018, and would support a recall election in a heartbeat. Geoff Duncan will soon be as bitterly despised as Brad Raffensperger.

If I know anything democrats are opportunist and liars. There is no political gain do give liberal constituents anything until just before an election.

I am not familiar with the House rules in Virginia. In most states the Republican Leadership (whether in the majority or minority) selects the legislators who will get committee assignments.
I might not understand it correctly but it was the Lieutenant Governor Geoff Duncan (not Jeff but Geee off) ... I’m sure legislative bodies love being told from the executive branch.

That’s everywhere. What I notice, from my own little sample here in the blue part of Ohio. Those that are conservative tend to be more informed. Liberals, and middle of the road types tend to rely on “The Evening News” as a trusted source.
In general, who can blame them? You work all day, you have family stuff going on, who has time to spend ferreting out the truth?

We need to face facts, the to leadership of the GOP is controlled by the same tribe that controls the Democratic Party. These cretins come from the same families, live in the same neighborhoods, attend the same schools, and infest the government bureaucracy and the hate regular Americans of all races.
We have to abandon the GOP for a new party.
