Former Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang has officially announced he is running for mayor of New York City in this year's elections.
The 46-year-old entrepreneur and father-of-two announced his mayoral bid late on Wednesday.
'I moved to New York City 25 years ago. I came of age, fell in love, and became a father here. Seeing our City in so much pain breaks my heart. Let’s fight for a future New York City that we can be proud of – together,' he said in a message posted on his campaign website.

Xi Jinping would be a step up from DeCommio. I’m pretty sure that New Yorkers somehow found the worst person in world to run that s-hole city.

Kinda has a ring to it.
Andrew Yang weighed the consequences of getting blamed for the unsolvable problems of a defunct city versus the graft he’ll collect and chose the graft.
It does have a bit of a Yang to it.
He should name his kid Ying.
With a few exceptions over the decades, the slate of possible mayors of NYC looks like the roster of an insane asylum softball team.
Yang would be a coach on that team.

I respectfully suggest you reconsider the use of that phrase. The events of the past twelve months demonstrate that it can always get worse.

I’m a fan of Yangs...especially his emphasis on the value of our personal data, which has been making the likes of Bezos et al ultra wealthy. Should we get a dividend on this data? Absolutely. I don’t care what you call it... a dividend, a tax refund.
I didn’t know he was from NYC
The desire for power knows no bounds.
Makes me think that his “presidential campaign” was waged to give him name recognition and to further his career in politics. Not to make him president.
Didn’t he move to Georgia to vote in the senate election there? I recall the dickless Secretary of State huffing and puffing about prosecuting anyone that falsely claimed GA residence to vote there...
