In retrospect, two former “banned” outfits found a better path.
Infowars and Gab both built their own systems, instead of depending on enemy Amazon servers etc.
And they are still up and running.

And they are still up and running. For now, but wait until the Democrats make it a hate crime to suggest Biden did not legitimately win the election ...

instead of depending on enemy Amazon servers I am going to lease a Chinese Island to locate my Uighur Freedom Foundation.

I could install and configure the various servers circa ‘90s (UNIX, DNS, MTAs, web, audits, etc.) but would need too much time to catch up on contemporary loads, security against DDOS attacks, new chatty tech and more. It was only a hobby. Corporations preferred dudes from terrorist countries and wondergirls as sysadmins over the likes of me, even back in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

It’s not the servers it’s the financial side that blew up

Right, formerly banned. As in they had previously been careless just like Parler. Now it is Parler’s turn to build something safer.

Many smaller outfits might be a way to go. They could share news with each other. That would also offer various policies to choose from (e.g., moderation). I, for one, have no tolerance remaining for the conspiracy theories and calls to quit.

The head of Gab - Andrew Torba - was on Steve Bannon's War Room today. Good stuff if you get the chance for a listen.

Gab has a new browser called Dissenter.

They’ve done more to Parler then just ban use of servers. They had banks dump them, insurance companies, email companies.

Parler is authorized dissent. People will waste attention and effort there.

Are they using a server farm? Because that worries the heck outta me. I’m afraid the left will go after those.
To: Travis McGee
If he can’t do the same then Parler deserve to go away, he’s too dumb to run what is needed.

Parler could do the same, but it would be steep, uphill climb.

As is thousands of others. I got a briefing this morning on companies making the switch from Amazon to Azure and other services.

Exactly, Parler was as bad at business as their software was. A good idea so very poorly executed.

On Wikipedia's Stormfront page:
"In August 2017, Stormfront's domain name was seized by its registrar for "displaying bigotry, discrimination or hatred."[12]
The site came back online on September 29, 2017. As of October 2017, services to keep the site online were provided by Tucows, Network Solutions, and Cloudflare.[56]"
I dislike Stormfront, but those domain registrars might be worth a look for companies like Parler.
