House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's lectern, seen being carried off in the Capitol riot in a photo that went viral, has been returned.
Pelosi was expected use it to speak after Wednesday's vote to impeach President Donald Trump for "incitement of insurrection."
Los Angeles Times staff photographer Kent K. Nishimura tweeted that an aide said "Yes, it’s THE lectern," as it was being set up.
Adam Johnson, 36, of Parrish, Florida, allegedly stole Pelosi's lectern during the riot. He was arrested after federal investigators said he was the man seen smiling in photos carrying the lectern through the Capitol Rotunda.
Johnson has been charged with "one count of knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority; one count of theft of government property; and one count of violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds," according to U.S. Attorney's office. He was released on $25,000 bond Monday.
Federal investigators said Senate staff found the lectern the day after the riot. It has an approximate value of $1,000.

It wasn’t stolen, it was moved.
Did he take it by force and take it from somebody in person or was it just sitting there? What if I went into a room and just picked up a pedestal or chair and lectern and left it in a different room. Your stealing from a bank teller by threat and force analogy isn’t the same.
exactly. and not by threat or force. unless she was actually using it at the time.
Ooooh, yah, they must have been in hot pursuit. Also that was furniture, and it wasn't a bank robbery, so your equivalence is false. Though embarrassing the Speaker is apparently a federal offense.
Ah, but he didn’t go for the door or attempt to conceal it or his identity. If anything he boldly showed his face.
This is more like grabbing a bag of chips at the store, carrying the bag to a different aisle, and leaving it there among rolls of toilet paper and packs of paper plates rather than go to the trouble of putting it back in the snack aisle.
Claiming it was anything more based on just this info, is not going to be provable beyond a shadow of doubt. That doesn’t mean there isn’t more and better evidence against him to come, it’s just pointing out this is overeach at the moment.
Now she can be Buried with it
I know exactly where that lectern belongs and if you can get Nancy to bend over I’ll help get it there.
She was MIA three days in a row until the vote today...hmm.
BLM rioters did a lot worse and nothing happens - they don’t even say they are going to investigate. A guy with a Trump hat moves a pedestal across the room and gets 11 years. I am sick of the double standard.
She was MIA three days in a row until the vote today...hmm.

I thought the one I bought on eBay was real?
Good thing he didn’t rip up any speeches.
Getting her monthly botox treatment, having her hair done at the Maskless Salon,
eating Ben and Jerry’s Rocky Road ice cream, and yelling at the help.
Come on people...Mr. Johnson was just taking a political stand. Since when it that a crime?
Glad you are not an attorney.....
The intent is critical.....for your analogy, a bank robber drops money while leaving the bank...It was clearly his intent to steal the money.....
In this case, other than posing for pictures, they are going to have a difficult time proving intent to steal...
However, the manner and the action were incredibly stupid.....
Did Nancy pay for this lectern herself ?
Doesn’t the lectern, like everything else in Congress, belong to the people?
