“who would normally be eligible for free school meals while schools are closed”
Are the schools supposed to provide 21 meals for a week? 5 meals (lunch) for week?
Light breakfast and an afternoon snack each day of the school week (5 days)?
Well go to the store and buy your children food yourself.

Oh I wish we’d had a hill. We had to climb up out of the ditch.
Granted. These are strange times. And you are also right that there is nothing the government does that it doesn't screw up. $40 for ~$5 of food. But they do have to pay someone's sister to deliver it for $20. How else can they get rewarded for being connected?
Parents unable to provide should be helped. Parents unwilling to provide should lose their kids.
Those kids should be with parents who make it their business to provide for them. If they aren’t being fed they are being neglected/abused in other ways too.
The kids were lucky they didn’t get real British food! The Virus would be the least of their troubles. In fact, British food would turn them into, or give them, the Trots.
#14. If you discovered a way to defy gravity, let’s patent it. We could make a fortune and save on shoe leather and gas.
