I don’t know. I think the same guy owned the parent and child company.
I suppose it could simply be a business “simplification.” Like he planned on starting many businesses under an umbrella, but settled on one. Or maybe he bought out other owners.

As I mentioned, someone suggested to me that it could be a FB alternative....vs Parler and Gab being Twitter alternatives.
I tried Clouthub (for a FB type alternative) but, don’t really like the interface.
I have not checked out MeWe, yet.
