There is precedent for impeachment post resignation. Congress is the last word on impaechmant. There is no time limit on trial and conviction.

He bailed on Trump. Refused to object to the electors. In his email to me prior to Jan 6 he said he was just going to leave it to the legal steps available to Trump, kind of Pence like in his thinking. Coward!

New party. I will never forget what the GOP did. Let’s go to one party for a while. Then they can’t foist the blame for the disaster on the Washington Generals.

"I will not support any Bush League Republicans ever again."

I cannot believe that there are such wishy-washy people like livius on FR, who would turn around and welcome those scumbag, traitorous Republicans back to the fold. Then they wonder why we can get rid of these a-holes. Some people just like getting it stuck up their ass by the same people, over and over again. Please sir...may I have another? I learned a long time ago, that people do things to us, as long as we let them get away with it. And as long as people continue to forgive and forget, the bad behavior of the majority of Republicans in Congress, and go right back for more punishment from them, the party will never change. I'm done with the GOP. They are dead to me. They set the timer for their demise on January 6, 2021.

Probably going to give up voting, what’s the point when the elections are rigged?

I think Scott probably took my approach. The onus was on Trump to prove, in a court of law, he was somehow cheated to a point that it would overturn the election. That failed, miserably. At that point, it was time to move on.

Now people want impeachment. Like Scott, I prefer Trump to be left alone and let him finish his term.

I realize that it not popular on this db but it is where we are.

As I said. I respect Scott and hope he stays in the Senate a long time. He is one of the good guys.

I think by this time next year, the weak, meaningless GOP may actually find itself in the position of being the one barrier.

Well then, we are well and truly effed then.

Yeah. You’re going to love living under the Stalin Dems.

There needs to be an opposition. Giving up is not the way.

Yes, we are scrwood, and I think some of them realize that too.

So put pressure on whoever: Reps, state reps, Senators, etc.

They’re scared too. Give them the cojones too go forward. And if that doesn’t work it’s time for Plan B...but nobody has a Plan B.

I’m not voting for ANY Senator. They make bad Presidents anyway.

"I’m not voting for ANY Senator. They make bad Presidents anyway."

Good deal. Look at all the bad Presidents there were, who were already career politicians. The only two good modern Presidents were Reagan and Trump. Reagan might have been Governor of California, but he wasn't a politician when he won that office. His only downfall was that he gave us the Bushes.

The onus on POTUS was to prove that John James was the victim of voter fraud? Nonsense.

GOP candidates were victims of voter fraud across the country and the GOP itself couldn’t have cared less. GOP State legislatures rubber stamped the steal and national Republican went AWOL for two months while the steal was completed. Instead of supporting POTUS in his fight against the steal the GOP went AWOL. The stolen election is fully bipartisan in nature.

"Desantis or Noem."

I doubt the GOP would ever let either of them be nominated. Until Donald Trump came along, the GOP gave us wishy-washy RINOS, and the media loved it. Desantis and Noem would be villified by the press, and the same Republicans to stabbed Donald Trump in the back, would be stabbing them in the back too. I don't see them ever getting the nod.

I like both those choices, but I don’t see anyone on the horizon that I could trust the way I do Donald Trump. He was fearless and we could sleep at night knowing he was at the helm against any sort of terrorist or rogue government. I know he’s not yet gone from D.C. but I and some in my family already miss him more than we can say. I fear there will never be another like him.

Didn’t CNN also report that Trump was in the White House and was afraid to come out because he might not be let back in again?

As Trump is seen with guys in cowboy hats down at the border?

Here’s a Republican who can read a calendar and is loyal. Nice.
