McConnell is said to be pleased about impeachment, believing it will be easier to purge Trump from the G.O.P.

Time to FNC the GOP. Even if the NYT article is bullchips, it is time to FNC the GOP anyway.

You're trusting "unnamed sources" from the
New York Slimes.
AFTER McConnell already distributed a memo a day or two ago that the Senate wouldn't be able to start on Peach-Mint till after the 20th.
If Biden is in office then (still not certain) then President Trump is a private citizen and not subject to Peach-Mint.

Well McConnell did absolutely zero to address election fraud so I’m not surprised.

Not buying it. Would need to hear turtle say it and sign a piece of paper saying the same. I don’t trust the NYT on any “report”.

"According to people familiar with his thinking." Now that's a new deceptive ploy by the Slimes! Guess "anonymous sources close to the matter" doesn't quite cut it anymore.

Vs. Mitch McConnel.
Zero credibility.
Tough call.
But, Mitch is dead to me, as is the GOP.

The B*tch Mitch had better watch out for what he wishes for.
No republican will ever hold a seat of public trust again.
Wait and see if he actually is saying this.
Third party here we go.

Oddly, I think this caretaker version of Congress is not legally in a position to impeach anyone. They can impeach Biden after the 20th, and I would not be surprised if they find an excuse to do so. But President Trump is not the one tied to their iteration.

See the 1837 impeachment of Grant's Sercretary of War.
Happened after he resigned. The trial was held anyway.

The Trump base should vow to never again vote for any pubbie that votes for impeachment.
