His airway was never obstructed

Yeah, when this was going on, I remember thinking that the American public really needs an anatomy lesson. Airway, trachea, windpipe is located at the front of the neck, not the sides.

They had the drug....

However based on the overdose, he was dead regardless....

All they had to do was sit him up or place him in a patrol car and it would have been a non-story.

the actions of the cops after he clearly stopped offering any resistance have no excuse. None. At all.
Chauvin should not have been pinning a guy he just saw eat fentanyl pills to the ground and should be held accountable for what was excessive/unnecessary force AFTER the man was handcuffed, subdued and then unconscious

[[The paramedics were begging to get involved .....but told no.....]]

I saw the videos- several, showing the paramedics showing up and getting right to work. Noone prevented them from doing anything- If you have videos or testimony to the contrary- please share it-

Quick search.....

https://nypost.com/2020/05/28/george-floyd-showed-no-signs-of-life-en-route-to-hospital/

Paramedics were there 6 minutes after the call while the officer still had the knee on the neck.....

Plenty of pics of the paramedics standing by.....

There is more out there...

Again, based on the autopsy, would not have changed the outcome....

There is a lot of conflicting info regarding the role of the paramedics and exactly when they were able to attend....

Tried for what? According to the official autopsy Floyd died of a heart attack triggered by an overdose of fentanyl along with meth. According to the autopsy, there was no trauma to either the back or Floyd’s head or the esophagus and frontal tissue in the throat. The only injury he had was two broken ribs accomplished when CPR was attempted.

He had small signs of fentanyl overdose even when they sat him down at his car. Having a patient say that can’t breath is normally consistent with Heimlich in that unless they are really starting to lose air, their airway is not blocked and the maneuver should not be initiated. The only thing they did wrong was not being able to recognize a medical emergency until too late. Doctors do that also.

Fentanyl is an opioid that causes worsening existing respiratory issues, such as emphysema, bronchitis, and asthma. Floyd was an asthmatic.

nothing you pointed to said they were prevented from doing their job-

policy procedure was to keep the perp controlled- just because a person passes out does not mean they won’t come to again in a very aggressive manner- people high on drugs are known to show extreme strength- You don’t know why they were standing there- most likely questioning the police about what was happening- infact I believe there is audio of that happening- questioning the police about what they thought the perp was on, what his actions were etc-

nowhere did the police prevent the paramedics from doing what they came to well- You said that they ...were... prevented from doing their job- I’ve neither seen nor heard any such accusation or evidence of that before-

Again, the result would have been the same if the paramedics started working on him when initially taken into custody...

The testimony in court will clear any ambiguity.....

Regardless, the officer IMHO actions exceeded common sense although may have been within department guidelines. Other officers there pleaded with him but they were junior and could not override...

they didn’t plead with him- I heard all the video. One officer who wasn’t experienced i n handling drug riddled perps asked if he should be turned onto his back, but that is the exact wrong thing to do with someone od’ing as attested to by experienced police- Chauvin did the right thing in keeping him on his stomach incase he vomited-

I know a lot of folks hate the police and think they are cold blooded murderers, but Chauvin did nothing wrong- And he certainly never cut off floyd’s breathing for even a second- which can be proven by listening carefully to the many videos- Floyd was still breathing even after he passed out- an officer checked on that, and reported that he was still breathing- you can hear it on the audio

There’s nowhere in the country where this guy can get a fair trial. The County Medical Examiner says the knee didn’t cause the death? So what...get another opinion. Hopefully he’s got lawyers who know how to file Federal appeals because that’s his only hope.

Both Floyd and this Chauvin look like scumbags to me. We’d all have been better off if the cop had thrown this scoundrel in the paddy wagon instead of kneeling on his neck with a smirk on his face.

You need to really educate yourself on the facts. Your ignorance is showing. They did put him in the “paddy wagon” to quote your term. It took at least 3 of them to get him there where they were unable to further restrain him because of his resistance. Floyd then starting complaining about being unable to breathe well before they put him on the ground. And to top it off Floyd actually begged to be put on the ground. And the resraining technique was a police dept. approved technique.

Don’t fit into the hate police crowd......Have a blue lives matter sign in the yard and on the car.....

The testimony and record in court will be the truth and not the media hyperbole......

Regardless, we both agree he should not be convicted, we may differ on disciplinary action but that boat sailed as well since he was already dismissed from the force...
