Retired Israeli Lt. Col. Dany Shoham, who was among the first to suggest that the Wuhan coronavirus outbreak may be linked to China’s military research, now believes there is a strong possibility that the virus escaped from a Chinese laboratory.
Col. Shoham stated in an article published last month that the initial theory that the virus behind the COVID-19 pandemic occurred naturally is coming under strong doubt by both scientists and intelligence analysts.
The former senior intelligence analyst for the Israel Defense Forces and Defense Ministry is a microbiologist and expert on chemical and biological warfare who has studied the matter.
According to Col. Shoham, the probability of human intervention in creating the coronavirus is higher than naturally occurring, spontaneous evolutionary adaptation. However, Chinese secrecy, deception and obfuscation about the virus origin are preventing spies and scientists from learning where the virus outbreak began.
“The genomic origin of the index virus (the strain that infected patient zero) has been determined to be a Chinese bat virus that underwent extensive pre-adaptation to humans, including continual transmissibility, prior to infecting patient zero,” Col. Shoham, now with the Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies, an Israeli think tank, wrote in a journal article.
“The open question is how, where, and when such exceptional genomic pre-adaptation took place,” he stated.
The debate over the virus origin has the potential for explosive disclosures, he said, yet intelligence agencies around the world so far have remained largely silent...

there were intercepted tweets way back in early March that they thought this was a virus being developed in Wuhan but was mistakenly released by someone who took an animal home to eat....IIRC.....but I believe as each day goes by, that it was a deliberate attack.

I rarely stick my neck out and make predictions, or advocate for conspiracy theories, or say, "I told you so!" - but back in March of 2020, I was telling my friends that there were essentially two possibilities:
1. Either the government-fanned hysteria and government-imposed measures were exaggerated and unnecessary (meaning that a naturally-occurring virus and a run-of-the-mill pandemic were being exploited to control and steer the populace and/or score political points), or
2. The virus truly was far more dangerous than previous viruses, really was a "game-changer" - which supports the hypothesis that it is not of natural origin.
At the time, I gave each of those two possibilities a probability of 98% and 2%, respectively. (It seems now that I may have to revise those figures!)
I highly doubt that the Red Chinese intentionally released the Corona virus. Rather, I believe that - if the virus came from a lab - it escaped accidentally.
Then there's also Busek's Corollary:
If the Corona virus is a lab virus, then the Western nations most certainly know that - which means that are colluding to hide that fact from their citizenries.
The reason: If we all knew that the Corona virus was a lab virus - even if it most likely escaped rather than being intentionally released, China would be culpable and Western citizens would be fighting mad.

How about something more important like: “Who conceived, ordered, supported, and distributed the virus sneak attack as a means to de-rail the Trump Presidency?”
Also, Trump's tariffs and his general policies regarding China was hurting their goal of being the World's biggest economic super power. The virus really shut down our economy. China was very happy about that.

Almost six months ago, Judicial Watch filed a Freedom of Information Act request with the NIH for all of Fauci's correspondence and notes with the Wuhan Lab and the WHO concerning the initial outbreak of COVID-19.
Fauci and NIH have stonewalled, of course.
Trump could get those documents any he time he wants, but, like 50 other FOIA requests that would have been politically helpful, Trump has done nothing, for reasons unknown.
This issue is starting to explode.
Within the last week, I have read two other essays on this subject. One by a PHD pharmacologist at "American Thinker." And, a second essay by a European MD, possibly in "Front Page."
Less than a year ago, everyone who speculated about the man-made virus possibility was instantly labeled as an ignorant racist.
What makes you think this was a premature release? Was the timing not impeccable and did not all sorts of follow-on measures seem primed for action?

By this time next year, the entire narrative will be that China was not at fault.
China and the WHO were right and Trump ignored them. We would have had a vaccine and better quarantine methods if Trump would have stopped bashing China and defunding the WHO.
Mark my words.
The effective release of a biological weapon would be released secretly in the enemie’s territory, ideally in multiple locations with protective measures such as a vaccine already developed at least for the that country’s ruling elite and military.
