AUSTIN, Texas — Sorry to break it to you, but Texas is one of the worst states to raise a family, according to a study conducted by WalletHub.
WalletHub compared all 50 states across 52 metrics of family-friendliness. The metrics ranged from the median annual family income to housing affordability to the unemployment rate.
Overall, Texas ranked in the bottom half, at number 28.

It’s because you can afford to raise a family without daycare, so the wife doesn’t have to work. That’s what it is saying.

Let me guess. Another subjective study that uses government funding of specific programs or numerous laws as its criteria for getting "high marks."
Like all the studies that show Mississippi always at the bottom of poverty. Well, maybe Mississippians like living the way they do. Maybe they want to live free as they are instead of being herded into high-rise condos or apartments and being told what to do by local and state government.

I must agree...Texas is a hell hole, so please stay where you are before it gets worse. I've lived here nearly 4 decades, and am doomed to die here.
You should have seen the thousands who went to the Fort Worth Gun show last weekend. I saw plenty of Trump signs, but was saddened that there were no Biden signs on display.

Massachusetts came in at number one, followed by Minnesota, North Dakota, New York and Vermont in the top five. Tells me everything I need to know.

My CA son is applying to college next year—several in Texas. His only criteria for college is “not too cold; not too much snow.”
Those “top 5” states—Minnesota and North Dakota? Only if you don’t mind living where it’s “colder than a well digger’s ass!” (as my father-in-law would say).

Florida is a BAAAAAD choice also.
Alligators everywhere
Pythons coming out of toilets
Mosquitoes so thick it’s hard to breathe
And then there is that dank, sweltering, fetid unbearable HEAT!
The Atlanta area of Georgia is said to be a very nice place.
