House Democrats on Monday released a revised article of impeachment against President Trump.
The proposed resolution was drafted in response to last Wednesday's Capitol riot. The article, formally introduced on Monday, is based on a draft released one day after the riot.
The resolution charges Trump with "inciting violence against the government of the United States" first by "repeatedly issu[ing] false statements" about the presidential election as well as by speaking to the mob before it breached the Capitol.
Democrats are prepared to vote on the resolution this week. If it passes, it will be the second time the House has voted to impeach Trump.

I may not live long enough to see how history views how this all plays out. Attempting to impeach a President for telling protestors to be peaceful and have their voices heard, in the long run, may not play well.
That actually makes it look more like petty abuse of power.
“How will they prove that his statements were false?”
If this goes to trial they will have to prove the Election was not rigged. Could be very interesting.
We are in the middle of a TREASONOUS INSURRECTION by the LEFT. And BIG BUSINESS IS IN ON IT.
It started FIVE YEARS AGO.
OUR VOTES MEANT NOTHING.
Trump supporters are being demonized and forced business closures are breaking the backs of the working class. Congress is NOT HELPING.
THEY DON’T CARE ABOUT ANYTHING EXCEPT KILLING TRUMP.
This is ALL MORALLY WRONG, UNCONSTITUTIONAL AND SINFUL. TAKING PEOPLES RIGHTS AWAY MUST BE STOPPED.
The “Trial” will be like the “Trial” in Animal House, with Pelosi playing Dean Wormer.
lol, I will have to go back and watch Animal House now.
“...as well as by speaking to the mob before it breached the Capitol.”
Will it go to a “trial” or can they just vote?
“Impeachment” is indictment: doesn’t require actual proof, only convincing enough of the right people that a viable case may exist.
House can impeach a ham sandwich, but then Senate has to hear evidence for & against its guilt.
That’s just it. They are skipping the trial and going right to the vote.
BWHAAH HAH HAH HAH HAH, and the hateful MORONS in Congress will go down in history as FAILING to impeach and remove President Trump TWICE.
And what will the Rats’ other great accomplishments for the American people be, led by the Bride of Satan: Yep, that’s right, NOTHING!
Worst Congress in history. WORST(nastiest/craziest/most unstable and childish) Speaker EVER. First woman Speaker, WORST Speaker EVER.
IMHO, this article would have more weight if the rats had included actual quotes of President Trump’s words.
As it stands it’s just a bunch on innuendo.
Regardless of whether the Insurrection Act HAS been signed yet or not, this travesty demonstrates that it NEEDS TO BE signed and implemented. Fast.
Obviously, their purpose is to sell the narrative that this was a legitimate election. They are looking for MANDATE when they turn the screws. THIS IS THEIR INTENT.
You will know the DEMOCRATS by the seedy thing they are doing right now. This impeachment thing is nothing more than trying to punish Trump for getting in their way of their unamerican agenda for 4 years. They hate this man for that. It has nothing to do with keeping him from running again in 2024. It has to do with hitting him on his way out. The democrats are slobs!
McConnell has already stated that there will be no impeachment trial for at least 100 days. Not sure why he's taking that stance, but that's what he said.
No they’re not. Trial is held in the Senate. McConnell has gone on record stating no trial for 100 days minimum.
No thanks. I’m not big on fiction.
Sadly, the left believes they are justified in this war to take over our country.
By “trial” I meant hearings.
