House Democrats have drafted an article of impeachment that accuses President Trump of “incitement to insurrection.” Acting U.S. Attorney Michael Sherwin said Thursday that his office is “looking at all actors here and anyone that had a role” in the Capitol riot. Some reporters have construed that as including Mr. Trump.
The president didn’t commit incitement or any other crime. I should know. As a Washington prosecutor I earned the nickname “protester prosecutor” from the antiwar group CodePink. In one trial, I convicted 31 protesters who disrupted congressional traffic by obstructing the Capitol Crypt. In another, I convicted a CodePink activist who smeared her hands with fake blood, charged at then-Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice in a House hearing room, and incited the audience to seize the secretary of state physically. In other cases, I dropped charges when the facts fell short of the legal standard for incitement. One such defendant was the antiwar activist Cindy Sheehan.

There needs to be far more investigation on what happened. I heard today that for the people who would have been incited by Trump’s speech and were within earshot, would have had to have left the speech 5 minutes before Trump gave the speech. Do not know whether this is true or not.

I don’t need the WSJ or any media to tell me that. If he had said, “Come to Washington on January 6 and make sure you’re armed.” some MIGHT have had grounds to complain. However, that hasn’t happened yet. When he says that, I’m going. The liberals need to be REAL careful not to push anymore, but I don’t think they get it.

Guilt or innocence have no role in this process. They want Trump’s scalp one way or another. Sherwin is a swamp creature. He is firmly settled in the Deep State’s anal-nasal chain.
I am getting tired of the use of the word “riot” to describe the actions at the Capitol. While there was some violence, it was 1/1000th of the violence by Antifa and BLM and other leftist groups that is apparently a-ok with the Democrats. 99 percent of the people that took part in the demonstration/protest were peaceful (the real peaceful, not the peaceful the media always claims for Antifa/BLM). But as usual, the Dems and media and Rhino’s only play up those small parts that had violence. If this was a riot, where was the burning, why were the Capitol police excorting the demonstrators in the building, and where was the destruction of proprty? It didn’t happen. In fact the most violence was perpetrated by the Capitol cop who shot and killed Ashl Babbitti. What we are seeing is propaganda and the weak Republicans are just as guilty as the Dems/media/leftists at this, especially McConnell, Toomey, Saase, Murkowski, Romney etc. What I think is that these supposed representatives of the people panicked, just like the cop that shot Ashli Babbitt and now all Trump supporters must pay because their little oblivious world was interrupted. None of those so called representatives were in any danger from Trump supporters and if there was any danger, it was from implanted BLM/Antifa people. And anybody who thinks the FBI or DOJ will provide an honest assessment of what happened has not been paying attention for the last 12 years.
John Adams, Ben Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, John Hancock, Paul Revere, and Patrick Henry all incited rebellion against their lawful king.

Little late for this WSJ. He is guilty along with the 75 million americans who support[ed] him. So is everyone who disagree with him, but won’t denounce him, or tries to stand up for 1st amendment rights.
I read reports on Twitter (so take it FWIW) from a pretty credible commentator that there were flash bangs going off at the Capitol complex BEFORE TRUMP FINISHED HIS SPEECH.
If so, the MAGA “mob” were not the ones inciting violence. A far more plausible explanation, though we’ll never be able to prove it barring someone fessing up to it, is that Antifa or similar actors started the “violence”.
