When there was a coup against President Trump during his first two years he got Sessions to make a swift and hard hitting investigation and prosecution. Then the BLM and Antifa were named terrorist groups and a crackdown on their activities led to prison terms and thwarted them from burning and looting after the first incidents. Barr and Durham brought Comey,Brennan,Clapper, Hillary, Huma and more to justice and that’s why they are in prison today. And the election fraudsters were unable to overcome the huge landslide victory for Trump’s re-election.

I think this legislation is grandstanding. Even in this hate-filled environment, it is unlikely to pass. However, most anything this bill would accomplish can be done administratively by the Biden Administration without the fanfare.
Not like mostly pieceful demonstrations held all over America./s

The Supreme Court would have to rule that this kind of law is unconstitutional, because it’s a clear and obvious violation of freedom of speech and freedom of assembly. I don’t think this legislation would even get 60 votes in the senate to survive a filibuster. I doubt that the democrats would trash the filibuster over dumb legislation that’s going to be struck down by the courts. If it did somehow get to Biden, he’d be making a huge mistake to sign it. He’s already made one really dumb move by declaring that half of all Americans are “domestic terrorists”. If he signed this kind of law, he would be on his way out the door in 2024.
If this “legislation” actually was passed and signed by Biden, the SCOTUS would have to strike it down, otherwise the court would lose all legitimacy and moral authority. If they let this kind of law stand, that would effectively be the end of the Supreme Court as a meaningful institution. But I strongly doubt that this “legislation” would ever pass in the senate, as it’s clearly unconstitutional.

So, let’s name the new cast for the reenactment of the Russian Revolution.

Playing the role of the Duma is the old guard of the congress thinking things can go on as before with a normal transfer of administrative power. Maybe it is the monied useful idiot capitalists who were mostly just in the right place at the right time but now think themselves superior to all the rest of them who buy their Twitter crap. Transfer of power to a new administration is not what this is. It is the wrecking crew come to town to destroy the nation or at least the government as it was originally constituted and replace it with a socialist state.
In the role of the various local Soviets who wanted to overthrow an unjust system but were just other useful idiots for the Bolsheviks to use to create confusion and instability? Probably Antifa and BLM.
In the role of the Bolsheviks? Well, that would be the AOC gang, Pelousy et al. But who will be their soldiers? I’d say the US Military and if not them then the blue helmeted hoard of the UN peace keepers hired as mercenaries. Pence is just a puppet. Obama returns from exile?

This is correct. They are harnessing the anger over 6 Jan capitol building cluster f*&^. Striking while the iron is hot. The whole "they fear us" is fantasy. The problem here is that they DON'T fear us. The people punching you in the face while you stand with your hands in your pockets are not afraid of you.
Well so much for the Bill of Rights, freedom of speech and freedom of assembly.
I am reminded of the Congressman who asked a smart person why they couldn’t use low grade waste heat to make electricity. He was told it was because of the laws of thermodynamics. The Congressman’s response was then, “we will repeal those laws.”
I pray that there is some rational thought that will remain on the US Supreme Court over the coming years.
