Governor Andrew Cuomo announced a proposal to prohibit utility disconnections in regions that are under a state of emergency as part of the 2021 State of the State. The Governor will propose legislation that will apply to electric, gas, water, telecommunications, cable and internet services. Utilities that fail to comply will be subject to penalties.

At the rate we are going the last few days, one has to wonder if utilities will not cut service for MAGA supporters.

I wish I were joking.

Right. We are outnumbered here in the People’s Republic of NY by election fraud and downstate.
In one way I find this interesting. I’ve had a few run ins with the local Gas and Electric company. On our rental property (duplex) they switched the account numbers on the meters at the office. Thus I ended up paying my former tenant’s high electric bill (she ran the A/C day and night)

They were not in the least apologetic about the mistake after they had denied it was a mistake in the first place. Downright snotty about it after they suggested it was “squatters” (vacant apt downstairs at the time).

Several shoddy repairs to service drop which lasted all of 2 months before breaking again and blowing out a customer’s HVAC equipment (hubs is an electrician and HVAC technician)
Public Service Commission is useless.
