Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said Sunday that half of the members of the House were at risk of dying during the Capitol protests on Wednesday as she and other Democrats prepare to vote this week on another impeachment against President Donald Trump.
'If another head of state came in and ordered an attack on the United States Congress, would we say that that should not be prosecuted? Would we say that there should be absolutely no response to that?' the New York congresswoman posed to ABC's 'This Week' host George Stephanopoulos.
'No,' Ocasio-Cortez asserted. 'It is an act of insurrection. It's an act of hostility. And we must have accountability, because, without it, it will happen again.'

What an airhead, little lunatic. I just read Trump’s entire speech from that day, he didn’t say one word that would cause what happened, not one. It was just like any of his other rallies, lots of rambling and repeating himself, other than that it was nothing out of the ordinary.

look, I admit I stepped back and haven’t watched half the videos I probably should before commenting, but I dont get the hysteria. Did CNN get them that scared?
Things to remember: Trump wanted the NG there to protect rally goers. Somebodies around him ‘advised against’ this. Trump wanted to go to the Capitol. Also advised against. Trump tweeted, go home. Twitter deleted his tweets.
The next narrative (echo chambered since) was, it was Pence who took charge and deployed the NG while Trump fiddled. Hero of the day. This narrative, as reported by Politico, became the first “trial run” of “Pence-first” - the posturing of Pence as President. However, on reading the quote from Marc Short, there had already been a call for NG deployment. And that came from the President:
““We were in the secure facility and the VP was gathering the leaders on the phone to get a status report and make sure they were OK and to discuss how quickly they could get back in,” Pence chief of staff Marc Short told me. “Some expressed frustration there’d been a call for the National Guard and it hadn’t yet been deployed; Pence volunteered to help and spoke to Miller and Milley.”
