What’s more, that’s followed on Jan. 18 with Martin Luther King Jr. Day and eventually the inauguration on Jan. 20. Ditto for the Senate.
Officials said that there has been no change in the schedule.

If you brought up impeachment or Amendment 25 hearings....you’d have to figure 30 days MINIMUM from the House team starting the episode, to the final hour of the Senate hearing.
On the Amendment 25 scenario...it only works if you have a standing-President. I can imagine some scenario where they meet and pretend that a retired/replaced President can be dragged into such a hearing but the wording in the Constitution conveys ‘active’ President.
So this is all juvenile chatter. Add to it...the more that events of the 6th are laid out (images, video)....the more it looks like the 1933 Bundestag fire in Berlin...a theatrical event.
How is impeaching Potus gonna put a stake in the heart of the movement? If anything it’s going to make people more pissed and vigilant.

I read something long ago that said a president doesn’t have to be in office to be impeached or convicted. They would do so to prevent Trump from running again and possibly to strip him of any post-presidential benefits.

The real threat is banning from future office
nah that’s no threat to DJT, he’s still got a lot of energy and things to do but he is closing in on 80. Not sure he want’s to go set up somewhere and run for office.
He can work fundraising for candidates and setting up a media platform for our side. Besides, he has two sons who could run for office.
